Gallons of housewash solution per house?

Ok let’s ask the obvious, how much are you making per man hour?

You don’t “NEED” to use a pressure washer to soft wash, but a backpack or pump sprayer is definitely not the way to do it. Here is what I use to downstream my mix. I use pumps hooked right to a spigot to boost water pressure to 100 psi and this gun. I get a lot of volume and with the 0 deg. tip can hit the peaks of two story houses and tops of chimneys from the ground. Typical 2 story house takes me 1-1.5 hours and I use 2-3 gallons of SH. Ranch homes are usually :45-1:00. No mixing, this gun connects right to a gallon jug of Pool Shock that I add an ounce of Elemonator to. It comes with about 20 different metering orifices so you can dial in exactly what % you want. I normally use the 21:1, but if it’s really bad 12 or 16:1. I use it at 5:1 for pretreating concrete.

Using normal house water pressure sucks when you get houses that are only 30-40 psi. I’ve had plenty of them that are that low. You’ll spend hours doing a house if that is all you have on tap. Heck, even if they have 70 psi, it drops down to about 40 while spraying and takes forever. I used to use just normal water pressure to apply and rinse when I first started out and some houses went fine, others took 2-3 hours. Had a couple I flat out couldn’t do because I couldn’t spray more than 10’.

I understand when you start you may have to use what you have if you can’t borrow, but as soon as possible upgrading to professional equipment makes a lot more sense.

I recently had to call an exterminator as i found out carpenter ants had started to chew their way in the lumber in an inaccessible part of my house.

I don’t think i would have been very impressed if i saw him using the same product i can buy at the big box store for 8$ and spray from the can and proceed to charge me hundreds of dollars to do so.

Instead i happily paid him because i assume although the ingredients are probably the same his product would be much more effective at solving the problem.

My opinion is as soon as possible a professional in any field should be using professional grade equipment AND learning continually to improve and master his trade.

Appreciate the feedback and info!

How does that rig rinse compared to 8 gpm PW?
I find that soaping up is the easy/quick part and rinsing is where I love the power of my big machine.

It puts out about 6-6.5 gpm at 100 psi, so it’s pretty good, but rinsing is for sure what I spend the most time doing. An 8 gpm pressure washer would be far superior, but I do this on the side and don’t have the ability to carry large mounted equipment or tanks.

I use this sprayer to rinse. It’s nice not needing to hold a trigger on since I spent most of the time rinsing. Either use the jet or flat fan setting.

Great stuff… but I really choke at at spending 28.00 freight for a gallon and I’m too small to buy the 150.00 free freight deal when it comes around. :frowning:

Where you working out of, charlie?

What barb piece is that with the tips sounds like an xjet added to that gun to be used thru your soft wash pump or sumn close to it

Blue Mule spray-all 50 gun. I use my own system that simply boosts the pressure coming from the house spigot to 100-110psi and downstream with this gun. My way is unconventional, but works great for residential jobs. I’m a part timer and don’t have a dedicated truck or trailer to carry a large pressure washer or tanks.

Paying a high price for shipping stinks.
But guess what stinks more? Using subpar products to do the job.

I couldn’t help but notice in the screenshot it was showing the Castleton store. Is this Castleton near Indianapolis? If so, I’m on the east side of Indy

Yep, Fishers. I’ve seen you around. Awesome looking rig, you did a really nice job on that.

Thanks Man! We’ll have to meet up sometime. I’ll Pm you
