First Truck Build

That is my plan. So a 2’ jump hose between pump and unloader is ok?

That’d be fine. I think I have 18" on mine and then probably 5’ jumper from unloader to reel.

Yes it’s an Allison. I run a 6ft hose from the pump to my unloader due to my service body and how I have it laid out.

Good. It’s nice to get a little reassurance, even on the little things. I might be starting to understand how to put one of these rigs together. (until my fittings order comes in and I realize there’s probably 4 things I forgot.)

Thank you. Can you confirm if it’s 1/2" in and out on that pump? I tried google searching and can’t find specs on the pump. Also tried calling Envirospec, but it was after hours.

I want to say 1/2" inlet and 3/8" outlet. 90% sure.

That would make more sense for the outlet to be 3/8.

Yeah I’m 100% on the outlet being 3/8". The inlet I’m pretty sure is 1/2" or 3/4"

Well expect to make about 47 trips to the store because there’s always something you forgot or thought you already had in the garage and can’t find.

I’d be surprised if the pump inlet isn’t 3/4".

Glad to see you’re an optimist lol. I drew my build out at least 10 times and ended up making just as many trips back to the store. Congrats on the new build, it’s a really exciting time

To all of you … yes, this is how I do plumbing … I draw it out on paper. Then I make a list. Then I go to the store - repeat this last part at least 7 times.

Oh, then I put it all together and test for leaks. There are 5 leaks. I fix 3 of them. Test again. Fix the other 2. Then there are 2 more. And so it goes.

I’m just ordering enough fittings to do either. They are cheap.

As if I needed more trouble in putting together my first PW rig, UPS can’t seem to deliver anything without destroying it. Last week I received two Hannay 12 volt reels. Both were damaged in shipping. Today the replacements arrived - both damaged. Ugh. Sprayer Depot is sending UPS to pick them all up and refunding my money. Time to find a local dealer!

Wow bummer I’ve had 5 reels delivered with no issues from Sprayer Depot. Your UPS driver must either be practicing for a derby race or likes soccer.

UPS is the absolute worst for package destruction! Don’t hold it against Sprayer Depot, it might be worth a phone call to see what it would cost to get them shipped FedEx, if your local UPS guys are that bad. My hannays came undamaged from S.D.!

Yup. Sprayer Depot guy was really cool. He gave me his cell number so I could just text him pics of the damage. He said he’s gonna have a chat with his UPS rep about how our local guys are doing things.

In the mean time, I just need some reels in my hands. There are a couple dealers in my area, so I’ll see what they can do.

I’d try SD again. Like Jake said see about alternatives.

Mine came with some paint missing on the motors from shipping but luckily nothing was bent and it works just fine so I kept them to not deal with the hassle of shipping back

If it was just paint I would have dealt with it. But out of 4 reels they sent me, at least 2 were bent up so bad they were not usable.

Gonna chat with a local dealer tomorrow morning. If they’re not helpful I’ll go back to Sprayer Depot and see if they have an alternative for shipping.

If anyone wants to chime in (I might regret that invitation), here’s what I think my plumbing will look like. Please forgive my kindergarten level drawing skills. What am I missing? What did I lay out wrong?
