Elbow surgery. Carpal tunnel in wrist. Knees shot from ladders. Inhaled way to much bleach. Ask me how much I love this job I wouldn’t wish this career on anyone. I can assure you my sons won’t be doing this.
Jeez… hang in there, can I ask how old u are?
Too old… can’t ya tell by how grumpy he is
So I tried out the downstream on a friends house today. The only numbers on the injector are 2:1. I’m assuming that means 20:1? Either way, I started with a 50/50 of 12.5% and water. Minimal difference. Green spots lightened but didn’t come off and there was almost no effect on the gutters or metal trim. So I went up to 75/25. Better results, but still not what I’m used to getting from my softwash setup. Should I get a different injector or just go for straight 12.5%?
A 50/50 mixture downstreaming should jave turned that green to brown pretty quick. What was the temps outside? And are you using the rignt tips to pull the mix?
Temps were in the 40s. And I was using a soap tip. It was definitely pulling. The green didn’t turn brown at all, it just lightened up a bit. It took a second shot with the 75/25 to get rid of it.
The lower the temps the less effective the SH is at working. Longer dwell times help and so will a stronger mix.
I thought about that for a second, but realized that I have always done my softwashes in the cold as well. As long as it was above freezing I would do it.
2.1 is the size of the orifice in mm. 2.1 is typically for 3-5 gpm and 2.3 for 5-8gpm. I actually use 2.1 on my 8gpm machines due to the 250 feet of hose I the reels. I’m only 47 but it’s been hard on the bones lol
My machine is 5.5gpm and I run 200’ of hose, so I guess this injector us suitable. Maybe I need to just keep softwashing and wait for warmer days to retest with downstreaming. I figured a 50/50 DS mix would have been more than sufficient, but it definitely struggled…
Temps were fine. We washed all day with temps starting in the 20’s and a high of 38. Try an 0050 nozzle if 0040 isn’t pulling enough. Longer dwell times in cold but not enough to notice. Some places sell old bleach in the winter because they get stuck with it.
Wow. My trailer is open so im afraid tof drive it down the road if it’s too cold, lol.
Can I buy a set of nozzles that I can put in the 4 nozzle holder to cover soap and rinse, low and high? I’m not familiar with the various sizes as I’ve always used the 4 pack that came with my soft wash kit from pressure tek.
You can put any nozzle you want in it. I don’t use pressure to stop the soap so i just make 3 way nozzles. 0050, and a high and low pressure fan tip. One for washing and one for popping gum or few times high pressure is needed
I was under the impression that not all nozzles will pull soap thru the DS…such as the red nozzle for example. So what do I use to soap the high gabled on 2 story homes?
Check this out
That’s EXACTLY what I had in mind! Thanks!
My point was you can screw in any nozzle you want to. Not that it is necessarily the right one. An 0050 or 0040 is what you want for long range soaping and rinsing. 95% of the time it is all you need. Red tip should be used for setting the unloader then forget you own it
I have the one for tbe 7-8gpm machines but I think I’m going to order and try out the ones for the 5-6 gpm soon.
Is this nozzle pack different from the one included in this kit? 5800 1/2" Poly Kit - Pressure Tek
Setting the unloader? Oh man…
