Purple zep I believe is hydroxide based. From my understanding it’s better for grease & foot traffic.
BD200 works great.
I’ve switched to the stuff @Hotshot used to use, HSC. That stuff is amazing. He might be selling his own sauce now. Maybe he’ll chime in.
@qons. I still use HCS 400. Its unbeatable imo.
They made a new HCS400 hyper concentrate version in a 55 gallon drum that yields 2 barrels of what your used to out of the single purchased barrel. Its supposed to be stable in its single barrel form. So for example we are 9:1 in a poly sprayer for a Stout degreaser, Hydrochem says you can simply pop the cap ,stir a little and use it as 18:1. Or make two barrels out of one and use it as you would regularly.Thats what im going to do. Its $800 ish a barrel. I bought one with my last order and will tell you my findings Sir. Its alot cheaper to buy it this way than buying two of the regular premium barrels.
It is unbeatable. Didn’t know about the new double power sauce. Good to know.
@qons. I don’t either, it arrived last week and its sitting at the shop. But as soon as I use it I’ll report back. Thats the old version of the HCS 400, Wont go to work without it.
You do the finest work this side of the Mississippi. Top-notch as always.
Aww schucks, thank you for the kind words @qons. Im just a dumb old salty truck washer that doesn’t know when to quit and enjoys to do good work for my compensation is all.
Is this worth using with cold water, or does hot water make it shine?
@OhioFloMo. Hot water helps everything IMO. But I’ve used HCS 400 more with cold water. We don’t turn the heat on until it gets below 50° or if its a really greasy piece of equipment. Buy a bucket of HCS400 premium for yourself and you’ll be hooked. Ask @qons.
Okay fine
I’m a convert too, and 5 gal lasts awhile. Hotshot turned me on to it when I was doing a really nasty garage. I water it down for gutters black with coal soot.
Reached out to see who distributes it around me… for concrete is this something to use in addition to sodium hydroxide or as a replacement for it?
If you’re talking about HCS, this would be the only degreaser you need.
Yes HCS, awesome thanks!
Hydrochemsystems.com is where you’ll find HCS400, their out of Michigan. And you’ll also have to call for pricing and delivery. Its not cheap, but at a 9:1 ratio like we are,one bucket will give you 40 gallons of a good stout degreaser. The only other degreasers that we’ve found that comes close to hcs400 is Hotsy’s ripper 2. Around $108 ish a bucket, it works well for us at around 5:1.
