Not saying you should push it till it dies - just that I am able to use a 30 gal buffer tank in the truck and just put the washer on the street behind the truck and the water pressure is enough.
I hope you have great success Luhman. Everyone carves their way out a little differently. Let me know if I can help in any way. This forum is a great resource - I’ve read a ton here and these folks are very helpful and provide top notch advice.
Oh sure, thanks Pierre - I understand. I am building in a dump line and two Hudson valves - one will fill to 100 gals and the other a bit higher for when I do larger cement jobs (I have one customer that has a 40,000 Sf driveway, although the 4gpm washer kept up with it fine, I don’t think such a small tank would work well when I purchase the 8 GPM machine)
I appreciate the advice though! I def won’t be running around with even 100 gals in that baby. The gas gage is going to pretty much move faster than the speedometer on that new truck!
I have remote customers up north who have fences they want cleaned which don’t have hose connections handy as they are remote on several acres, so it gives me the ability to have some water on board and travel short distances so I don’t have to go back and forth to refill.
I also offer roofs and recently got a job washing a golf course here - both the clubhouse and the cart barn which is ~28,000 Sf so the tank will come in handy for that. I did their personal home last week - about 3,100 Sf - and had to make a batch mix quite a few times. I’ve included a metering device in the new build so I can save the knees climbing up and down the ladder to batch.
I just cut my garden hose from 82 feet to 9 feet… hence i was getting 3.43gpm but now I’m getting 5.5gpm…means my machine will always be closer to spigot, but I’m bit relieved. Thanks to you all🙏…
Most gear box drives come with the gear box pre installed. Enviro spec is probably your cheapest route. Conversion to belt drive cost less money but it requires more effort on your part to get it right. I prefer a belt drive. Some prefer gearboxes. Just remember if you break a belt you can replqce it and keep working. If your gear box breaks you go home
