You sound a lot like my old employee, someone who who doesn’t trust anyone. I sure hope you don’t attack every new person who comes on here and simply asks a question trying to learn. Your the reason people troll the site and don’t join.

I had never considered the concept of intentionally hiring employees who aren’t capable of safely mixing chems when given proper instruction. But to a particular type of employer, I can see how those attributes might be attractive in a new hire. We certainly don’t want employees who are smarter than us…

Wrong again, sort-of. Its not about hiring someone that is smarter than you, its about hiring someone that follows direction. After you interview enough people, work with them, fire them, repeat a countless number of times you begin to look for certain personality traits that YOU want to see in an employee. That being said there are employers out there that enjoy barking at employees or want to feel better (smarter) about themselves and only hire from the shallow end of the pool so they can fulfill that “need”.

PS- if you haven’t noticed by now, I have a habit of playing devil’s advocate in conversations. Sometimes when there’s not much call for it. Other times when I’ve got a legitimate point, but only a half-baked argument for it, lol

My responses come off as direct and to the point, because I intend them to come off that way BUT they read harsher than the spoken word because I’m not gifted in the art of sugar coating. Although I am trying to improve on that

You mentioned in one thread you have 10 years experience PWing and then you ask how to clean a driveway or deck with dawn, that doesn’t sound like an experienced PWer to me so I asked the question.

I have 10 yrs running the washer. I have no experience with what solutions to use when and where. That’s what I want to learn. I have no idea if he used dawn or not, wasn’t allowed to see any of that part. He would bring the solutions to work in the morning already mixed. I want to learn all aspects of this business that’s why I ask questions. And I did,t ask how to clean a deck or driveway with dawn I asked if anyone used it. So the general concensus to my question is an absolute now way. Let’s be done with this thread and move on please.
