Customer did not pay for the house wash. What are my options?

oh yeah it was a joke. i should disclaim that in case a newer guy takes it serious. just wanted to throw some banter in there when i wrote it.

I promise my customers theyā€™ll be satisfied with the cleaning or Iā€™ll put it all backā€¦it might take a few years to get back to before I cleaned itā€¦ but eventually itā€™ll look like Iā€™d never been there.

Ive had a few instances like that.

  1. you can put a lien, bur like some people in here said, wont do you much good if they dont sell.

  2. be patient, keep moving forward with new jobs (if you need that payment to pay bills or urgently need cash it really sucks). But keep reminding him you have a pending bill. You never know, he might not have the money and just needs a few days or weeks to pay you. You get your money either way.

  3. call it a loss and keep moving forward. If he doesnt pay you call it a learning experince and never do business with him again.

I havent had home owners or commercial clients ding me but i did have a contractor gip me off 700 - 800 cleaning an A&W that he never paid me. Would not pick up his phone, etc. I just stop messaging him and let the Lord give him his rewardā€¦ but my wife on the other hand, 4 years later if i mention his name she goes om instant angerā€¦ she never let it go lol

To put things in perspective, the sign business is 30-60 days net which turns into 90 plus. We are fortunate in this business to usually be paid immediately. People get busy, cash flow can be difficult and things are delayed sometimes. When I first started reading this I was thinking it was over 10 days but itā€™s literally a couple days old. Just relax a bit he will probably come through.
