Choosing a surface cleaner for 4 gpm

Just depends how bad the concrete is. I got that percentage from this forum!

That job I did I must have been doing something wrong or I didn’t have the right square footage. I’ll have to back and look at that job to be sure. 2100sqft per hour seems like a lot.

I gotcha. I thought the other way about your post, lol. The 700 sq ft is a hair less than the actual measurement. My driveway is four cars wide, and two deep. I measured the the two middle rows (41’x 17’ 6”). I timed how long it took to clean it. It literally took me 20 mins. But it all happened in the beginning when I was trying to figure out my pricing. That’s the only reason I’m sure of it.

Come to think of it,…the reason it may be a little faster is because my surface cleaner has a three bar sprayer as opposed to two.

Looking back on it I definitely lost time because I didn’t have a ball valve. I had to keep shutting my machine off and on it was a pain. My surface cleaner was a 16" two nozzle. My new machine I’m building is 8gpm and I bought a whisper wash classic 4 nozzle.

You’ll definitely cover some ground with that 4 bar.

I’m looking forward to it!

I am new to the business. Ive been struggling with leaving stripes. I started pre treating and its been helping. I thought going with a bigger machine (just bought 4gpm 4200 psi) would cure everything but i see now this problem can happen despite.

Please, what is post treating and what does it involve? Thank you.

Post treating is basically the same as pre treating but you do it after surface cleaning. 2%-3% sh usually takes care of most. Spray it on and let it dry. If the customers are home be sure to tell them not to walk on it while wet. You don’t want them tracking inside and bleaching their carpets.

What kind of surface cleaner and what size nozzles are you using?

Thank you, that’s what I figured. I am using honda 2.5gpm 3000psi with a ■■■■■■ $150 surface cleaner. I am getting my 4 gpm 4200 psi ready to use now. I am still learning about tips and what they do. First, could my sc be known to be the issue? Also, what surface cleaner would you recommend for my 4 gpm 4200 psi machine? I am looking at the BE w-a-w 16’ and WW ultra 16’’. Thanks

I had bought a new MiTM surface cleaner, 20in, and it was already configured for 4gpm 4000psi. I changed it later on to 5.5gpm 3.0 nozzles. It performed better at the 4gpm. It doesnt say what the nozzles used were for the 4gpm. Just a fyi.

This.

Your likely issue was your 2.5 gpm washer. As Sean mentioned get the 16" WW.

Yup, and if it doesn’t come with them get a couple 25025 nozzles for it.
