Can you wash a roof in the rain?

You do what you got to bud. If it makes you feel safe have at it. All I’m saying if a ladder is not stable its one of two things you dont know how to use it and you have put it up wrong. Or it’s in a place it should not be. But you do what works for you.

No ladder add-on will ever compensate for good ole common sense and being aware and alert at the task at hand.

I’ve taken 3 ladder safety courses from firemen and don’t regret a single minute of the time I spent doing.

I used to teach firemen how to drink, and I also have no regrets.

For the younger folks playing at home, garrys talking about the pre margarita party with skinny jeans era. Onya garry! :+1:

Just a light note. Years back i was doing roof wash out of town. Had 95% done when a lightning storm came in. I stayed up there wanting to finish. A bolt came down not directly but close enough to send a good charge through my wand. Anyways i now joke about taking getting hit by lightning off my bucket list.

Being a previously aspiring firefighter who was fully certed, please do take the ladder tips @Firefighter4hire was giving you. Even on the adjustable A frames there are circumstances when it’s a h e double hockey sticks no. Metal cleats? May mess up the driveway. Rubber? C’mon now. No job is worth your life, or worth losing a week out for. I haven’t been on here too too long, but seriously - safety is first and foremost.

You are a lucky man Paul, should’ve played the powerball that day!

This is stupid and should be ignored by newcomers and anyone not sure about ladder safety

I’ve used that ladder stopper for over 10 years. It adds extra protection from slip outs on certain surfaces. It’s not meant for grass, dirt and things like that. And, don’t let the pic fool you, it weighs about 25 pounds.
