Wow that stinks, how did you resolve it? Did you pay out of pocket?
Tucking money away is just as important as having insurance, insurance is just a great marketing tool and will cover your butt on the big stuff. I just got a call from the maintenance guy at the mega church last week. He said two of the 10 foot bushes in a garden with the Virgin Mary are âbrown as can beâ. I give everyone a heads up that the detergent can kill plants if WE donât rinse well enough. I embarrassingly admitted that was my doing and Iâll replace the bushes. Probably going to be about the same as my deductible, but at least I wonât have to deal with premium raises or dealing with the insurance company or this customer thinking Iâm a dirt bag⌠All of which is well worth $500+ in my book.
Yea I payed $1200 to have those cars detailed.
Uh ohâŚthe 3 year period of not killing any plants or grass has come to an end.
I spoke with USAA when I was first looking and they said that none of their partners cover pressure washing at all.
Thanks for the reminder. I gotta change the faqs. Lol
Sorry. I was just reading through your FAQ and saw your comment. Itâs a sad day.
I have mine with Shelter. Itâs a little over a thousand per year for a million in coverage. But I have about 8 policies with them
Are you guys informing your ins companies of chemicals you use? Iâve had 3 companies that said they would cover me right up until I mentioned SH. They all split pretty quick after that. 2 companies said, "sure we will cover you. oh wait, this is your first year? Sorry the is nothing we can do for you. " Iâm still waiting on hiscox to respond and two others.
First year apparently has become a huge issue.
Donât mention SH and tell them youâve been doing it for a few years when you worked for a painting company. A good insurance agent will coach you through the questions.
Think about applying for insurance like a job interview. Donât lieâŚbut
People who power wash for a living donât know anything about soft washingâŚyet you think an insurance agent will and be on board about spraying bleach on houses lol?
I see what youâre saying but in the same regaurd if something goes sideways⌠and the ins agency catches wind of something then I get an audit then nothing is covered anyway thatâs the point? I ish want to be covered under all instances.
Your not lyingâŚ
In all my times looking for insurance I never once had one ask me if I was using bleach.
Basic questions that they usually ask.
Do you work over three stories?
No
Do you work underground
No
What ratio of commercial / residential do you do or plan on doing. (10 commercial / 90 residential)
How often do you use ladders? Almost never.
Donât lie, be thruthful but donât tell more then needed.
