Best Machine for Mobile Auto Wash/Detail

The seaflo pump is exactly what we are talking about. We use the same style of pump to softwash albeit with viton seals. I run one on my boat for general wash down duties. Mine has lasted me a few years. You don’t need any special spec pump for fresh water, find one that suites your volume of flow and go and be a baby rubber scrubber along with @hotshot and @dperez

Probably be easier with the 12v so you aren’t plugging into 120v all the time.

Using the customers water AND power would be a little cheeky, might as well ask if they’ve got some soap lol.

Just so you know you a 12v only puts out about 60-100 psi. If you plan on brushing or hand washing every vehicle it probably doesn’t matter though.

You probably don’t want just a 12V system if you plan to get the wheel wells, tires, and any lower muddy areas clean.

I will have to take a gander at this.

I think I am already probably in the ball park of less than a 1000 with my whole set up.

With 20 cars I’ll make all my money back, so about a month or so. Just again my main problem is getting the maximum efficiency out of what I buy since I need to pump

Check out this little gem:

Steve that generator seems to be gas, know?

The pressure washer and generator are both gas. I follow a few auto detailers on YouTube and they all use gas. I can tell you from experience that using the customer’s electric is going to be a pain. My first water fed pole setup was 110V electric. 1/3 of the exterior outlets at houses don’t work or are tripped. If you accidentally trip a breaker they might have a freezer on the circuit or an aquarium, disaster either way, and you never know how much extension cord you’ll need (not a big deal but hauling around a 100’, a 50’, and 25’ are a pain).

Thanks Steve, well the only factor with that as I believe I mentioned above is the sound. I will be doing my washing in the morning hours, like 4-8 and that will be an issue cranking a gas generator in a wealthy residential neighborhood.

My friend has the business and he uses electricity all the time. That’s why I got most my advice from him and I’m trying to optimize what he has told me to do.

Now I’m looking for the pros or experienced for advice

Is this what your friend does? I see a few problems other than noise from a washer, such as washing in the dark, causing dogs to bark, and generally moving about at 4:30 in the morning. In my city the noise ordinance is pretty tight. Basically, between certain hours, no continuous noise can eminate from a residential property that can be heard 50ft or more away.

That’s a slick lil set up and that’s exactly what I’d have if I was doing a few cars here and there. I especially liked the umm “T ball faucet”. I would want it on a slide rack though. Nice rig though for sure :+1:

Yeah, me too. I enjoy detailing my own cars. I have a steam cleaner, an extractor, foam cannon, polisher etc… I’m thinking of setting up a little gas op washer with DI water at my shop for my own stuff.

That’s a great little setup installed in the wrong vehicle.

Well Steve I totally agree with you, but the guy I’m working with does these peoples cars at those hours all the time. He works throughout the entire day.

I just got work myself at 930 so I got to manage between those hours.

That’s why I think a good pressure washer will get the dirt out. Soap etc will do the rest.

I mean I take really good care of my personal cars when it comes to washing and detail. So I hope I won’t fall short here with the right equipment and advice.

I would have honestly been open to purchase a fully built trailer but they come in gas and are 2200 for the cheapest weakest ones. I think it’s a rip off regardless, I can do gas setup on my own for far cheaper if I just DIY
