Hey brother ,
I’m new to the forum as well , and new to pressure washing , I offer many services as I am from New York. One of the things I do is awning cleaning I use winsol line up of chemicals they work great. You can even spray/use oxy clean as a lot of awnings are fabric it’s like washing clothes lol. I use a pump sprayer with winsol deep clean, if there’s anything organic I use SH (always test small spot before spraying big areas). I use the bird gone a lot because I live in NYC and there’s a lot of bird poop and pee. I use my pressure washer and maybe a soft deck brush and the awnings come out great and there’s good money in it. People are always going to tell you the negative part of do something . There’s decent money in awning cleaning on avg I get $80-150 for awning cleaning and up sell sealing/waterproofing it . It also leads to more jobs and people passing your info on. Great idea for a side hustle low over head not much to know . Use the video that was posted great educational video/tool. Most places don’t give two ■■■■■ whether or not you have insurance unless your going to companies, corporations. I got to small business , restaurant homes and there’s a lot of work . Just get out there and put your name out there . I’m no expert by any means but the last month I’ve grown a lot . And the last 2 weeks I’ve closed and done decent amount of work. I did my first house today customer was supper happy and the people here helped make it happen. Keep it up brother best of luck
I say go for it. Once you’ve done a couple, then go to the awning sellers in your area. I’m starting to make a push in that area. Don’t under charge. Nice awnings are expensive and people will pay. I had a call from a lady few weeks ago to do a 10*12 over her patio. Told her my minimum was $200 and she jumped all over it. Took me less than an hour. She was so thrilled she called the company that sold it to her and gave them my name. She said she had called them but they didn’t have anyone to refer her to.
They’ve sent me 3 customers in past week. One was a company that had a 3*5’ over their front door. Told them same, $200 min. They jumped all over it too. Took me 25min. I felt bad about it so cleaned their front walk which took me 10 minutes. Housewash mix, pump up for stonger, need 8ft ladder and extendable pole with a couple of different brushes. And could probably get by with a home depot pw as long as you had an adjustable tip.
I had one customer ask me about a sealer on their awning the other day. What do you use and does it really help?
Hey @Racer ,
I use all winsol products, there’s awning armor and armor 69 and the clean and protect each serves a different purpose those are the ones I use and good to know, people in NY have filthy awnings I have a lady a quote it was decent size wanna say 8’ by 4’ really dirty I quoted $100 cause I’m still need to business she was border line furious and insulted when. I should have been the insulted one it seems like lol . Plus I’m using good chemicals now I don’t feel bad about charging what I charge
The sealers do help
Winsol Awning Armor is designed to replace plasticizers, provide added UV protection and restore the original manufacturer’s level of sheen.
Winsol Awning Guard 690 Plus is designed to provide durable and manageable protection for expensive awning fabrics
Winsol Awning Cleaner and Protectant is a light to moderate duty one-step cleaner, sealer and UV protection for any vinyl including eradicable vinyl awnings. Helps to reduce color loss, fading, and increase the longevity of the vinyl.
Thanks. Great info. Where do you buy the Winsol products from? Have heard of them, but never used. How much does it cost to put the sealer say on a 5*10 ft awning?
I’m not by my book where I I have price break down by fluid oz but 8-32oz of fluid will run $3.75- $15. And I think 8-16oz will give you gallon of mix and a gallon should do that surface so let’s say $8 to seal that amount of awning .
I’m still learning on awnings but I’ve had some really good help , I’m still new to this but I do a lot of research and reaching out and watching videos and I do breakdown for chemical pricing so I know what to charge in jobs
