Average amount of bleach used on a 2000sq. ft. roof

I probably average about 50 gallons of 3-4% mix on that if its not too steep. I have been batch mixing and find a 35 gal tank of straight and a 35 gal mix tank works well. I load 7 or 8 gal of straight in the mix tank and top off the sh tank and go. Adjust as needed. This one was about 70 gallons of mix. A lot of loss…

Also, I would like to add that If I were back in Tennessee I would drive to @Racer house and pay him darn good money to build out my enclosed trailer. I simply lack the organizational skills required to make anything as functional and nice as his trailer. Looks great Rick!

Thanks Nashvillewash - the amount of mix/SH you use(d) is helpful. That roof pitch is crazy! I am in Florida and see so many companies walking on barrel tile roofs cleaning with surface cleaners.

Thanks, Wasn’t bad for my first one.

Hey Rick, how did you handle the moss on that roof…just let the rain take it off?

If it’s just real light I do. If clumps, or a section of real heavy growth, I try to brush them off

Hey buddy can you explain me how to figure out the mixed if I’m doing a roof how muchs ratio has to be

I use a metering system, that way I can carry more SH on trailer. But if you wanted 4% I’d be about 30-35% sh and 65-70% water, if you’re batch mixing.

Thanks @Kentucky1234 Super helpful chart. :+1:

You’re welcome, it came from some here on the forum. So I can’t take credit for it….just passing it on.

If you need to go cheap, get two 55 gal white translucent drums and mark them at ten gallon increments with a sharpie. Put the hudson on one and bleach in the other with a homemade proportioner. Lots of info about how to do it. You can even find a used ptfe diaphragm pump and a compressor to get a decent setup. I got lucky and found a 1/2" ptfe graco on ebay for $75. Thought I was going to have to rebuild it, but I put some soapy water into it and it spat out a 1/8" nut that was stuck in there. Good as new.
Put that stuff on a credit card and start marketing for work nonstop.

Stop! Don’t use the “M” word here

oops…

I would say no. I average about 18 - 20 gallons of SH per roof. I just buy a 55 gal Barr of SH at my local pool supply store and they load it on my trailer. I use a 55 gallon water tank with a Hudson float. However I just batch mix on my trailer with a empty container per job and use my 7 gpm Fatboy pump for application.

what make of valve r u using and size ? thanks for info just starting again. need to build diy.
forgot to ask if using 12v / p40 type or booster pump.

1/2” GF Valve, 5.5 gpm 12v pump….much success!
