1500???.. up here thats like a 5-6k job each bulding

You guys are getting crapped on. In Vancouver I do places like that in the spring, windows only, for 1000$ a piece. Repeat in the fall, gutter cleaning, 500$ a piece. Washing that down I would easily charge 2000$ minimum. If you subcontract the job - go and check out the work being done! See what equipment is being used, how many guys are on the job, and what they are doing efficiently (as well as not efficiently). Take notes, and learn from what you feel they could improve on.

Excellent. Down here, folks wonā€™t pay 6k for a few hours work.

Well my friend i understand youā€¦ Unfortunately i live on the west coast and the averageā€¦ AVERAGEā€¦ house price here is about 1.2 to 2 million dollars so we have to charge alot of money. Also, weird thing around here most guys DO NOT have 8 gpm+ machines like yourselfā€¦ so we gotta rack up hours with 4 gpms machinesā€¦ not saying youre right or im right, youre wrong or im wrong or anything but up on the pacific north west that how we do thingsā€¦ I undertand out east its a diffrent ball game but thats what we west coast folk deal with

Just for exampleā€¦ One house here is worth 1.5 million dollars canadian (1,15 million USD) is only worth about 250,000 american in texas, about 300,000 in floridaā€¦ prices are completely out of wackā€¦ thats why we charge way way higher

That is to say, a small advantage over your competitors can make a big difference in your profitability. You could be the first company in your area rocking an 8gpm machine.

You wouldnā€™t use it to undercut prices, but to get in and out of jobs in under half the time and sell yourself as the most efficient power washing company in the area (which is a big deal to many commercial and COA/HOA situations where they donā€™t want someone there for weeks on end).

And youā€™d be making twice as much as you were.

Yes you are 100% correct on thatā€¦ only problem in canada is we get hosed on anything over 4 gpm. Like i said on another post, its like we are 10-15 years behind.

I have had such bad experiences here with people who sell pressure washers in the sense that their knowledge is the most basic. Some guys didnt even know that if you get a bigger orifice you lower pressure. He was saying for me to use the bypass knobā€¦i was like WTF son, thats horrible advice. Once i tried buying a 5.5 gpm pump for a gx390 (everything fit fine and all) and he swore up and down it was not possible to put a 5.5 in a 390. I just did a face palm

Actually i will say this ā€œup here with get hosed with ANYTHING to do with pressure washingā€

I feel your frustration, however you guys can get in your truck and drive across the border , buy a few 8gpm machines then drive back . Iā€™m jealous.

In that sense yes we got it goodā€¦ we get taxed like no-ones business but we can do that lol
