Anyone ever run something similar?

I remember seeing the video a while back. Never seen or heard of anything like it. Really cool @dperez. I have no idea how you did it…That being said, I am far from being mechanically inclined lol.

What do you mean? What kind of electrical mechanical components. Do you have a link to the video.

I’m truly interested not being a ■■■■.

I just read the thread you were talking about. Seems interesting. I don’t wash fleets and have very little knowledge of the process. I’m guessing the way you two step isn’t the norm?

I appreciate that, I’m glad you enjoyed watching the video.

I removed the video because it had over 70 views and about two comments. I felt a bit uncomfortable with all the lurking and I pulled it. I don’t two step with acid, just upstream a alkaline soap with heat.

They probably didn’t understand what you were doing.

What you described sounds simple enough. I just don’t get where you pull the vacuum from.

Most pump manifolds have two inlets on the bottom and two outlets on the top. The top outlets are for your discharge. I have one feeding my flow actuated unloader and the other has a pressure relief valve on it. The bottom two are used for supply water and the other side is reduced for my 1/4" chemical supply hose. The supply water is a bit restricted to allow the pump to go into a vacuum while running. This vacuum is used to pull about 30 gallons of soap for every 1400 gallons of water.

I’ve yet to do any kind of fleet washing but I would love to come down and watch you wash for a night regardless if I do ever get into them. I do have some buddies down there who I haven’t seen in years.

We have a lot of little trucking companies around here being farm country so I’m sure I could find fleet work. I don’t think there’s any truck washes either.

That’s pretty typical of YouTube videos. The vast majority of viewers will not bother to leave a comment. I wouldn’t let that discourage you.

And if someone posts a video here on PWR, I usually comment about it here, as the replies are more likely to be from informed sources.

@Infinity The video was finally uploaded to Mega as they were the only host that I had any luck with in the four plus hours it took to find somewhere that could accommodate the file size and the direct link was only posted here so…the intent of posting the video was to elicit engagement through discussion with the 84 peers that watched it. It was not intended for our peers to take notes in the shadows and not bring anything to the table. These communities are invaluable in building best practices through discussion and sharing of information amongst ourselves but this happens only through discussion.

I agree with that. I personally would of never showed it if I was living in a big city such as yourself, the fleet washing ppl usually are a little more conservative with there information with their craft as to house and commercial washing ppl. I’m trying to get to the point of mixing my own soaps and acids and what nots. I get closer to my goal every month, working with a chemist. It’s labor intensive, time consuming , and very costly… I totally concur and agree with your decision @dprez
