Any good temporary roof harness systems?

Wasn’t there a guy lately saying in a thread that both of his neighbors also do pressure washing? That’s funny.

My Canadian Tire stores just pulled their pool shock off the shelves lol. Ive been watching it this summer and it sits around all summer, so definitely not 10.8 by the time I use it.

Good news is I just got set up with a farm supply place to buy in 55l drums. Works out to $8.05 per gallon, and I had to take a TDG course to get it… but gotta do what you gotta do.

I have 13% in 5 gallon carboys for 18$CAD each, delivered on a pallet. Best deal i found so far. In my area farm supply stores are the place to look. It’s half the price of your drum. Take the time to look into it, 50% is a lot at the end of the year.

Im aware of the ridge mounts, and how to properly install and remove them. What I cant find, however, is the magical way one gets to the ridge safely to install it/remove it. I mean, if I could fly, I wouldnt bother with the harness. If I could safely walk the pitch, I wouldnt be as concerned with the harness either. The only thing I can think of, personally, would be to put stand offs on an old ladder section, and reach it up so standoffs lock over the ridge (simular to how the GOAT works, but with a repurposed ladder section). Whats the proper method? Anyone know of a video (im more visual in understanding).

Cheers

Every system is going to have first up/last down issues to overcome. Even a permanent roof anchor is going to require you to get up there to clip into it. One of the best first up systems we’ve found is the GOAT, which you already mentioned… why re-invent the wheel?

Fair enough, just not a fan of the price tag. $1,000+ for a tube seems a bit much. Im sure Im missing something, but it doesnt look overly stable. Looks like it could easily roll to the left or right and off you go for a very unfortunate ride.

Thanks

They aren’t that much, unless you’re buying multiple extra sections… I have 5 of them for lights season.

There are other first/last man options though, if you’re looking for something else. Even just some Cougar Paws would help in alot of cases. Every guys has a pair of them, every crew has a GOAT, we also have a set of those foam blocks, and a few other things… all anyone uses is the goat, I don’t think most of them even use the boots normally.
