I live on lake greenwood. Probably half the houses here are vacation house. I could ride down any street here and see a for sale sign. People buy these things with big dreams then only come here like 2 weeks out of a year and realize it’s a waste of money and sell it.

As far as that sub division goes. There’s either no HOA or they are really laid back. Cars parked all in the street some places hadn’t cut there grass in 2 weeks. The HOA place I lived in when I was a teenager would not allow nothing like that.

I’ve you live in a vacation area why don’t you market to the rental companies? They usually keep there rentals clean so people give them good reviews

Like barry i dont have much success in those areas that are filthy and have no HOA. I still do the flyer thing, but will get a few jobs each year in there. Its worth the time, but im always dis appointed more dont want a clean house

Ya I seen a rental salesman yesterday talking to some potential tenants and thought about chatting with him after he finished but I just really feel I need some more houses under my belt before jumping in over my head.

Over half of the houses there had good looking lawns grass was edged nicely bushes were trimmed even. But the north side of their house was filthy and concrete driveways were too. I think if I get one job done there the other will see what their driveways should actually look like.

@Grizz When you see things like flaking paint, or gutters that may look okay while they’re dirty but you can see they will most likely need to be repainted when they’re cleaned, and other things like that, mentioning those things to the client during your estimate visit/period will help take some of the pressure away from you for sure.
Helps get everyone on the same page as far as the condition of things goes, and then you can work together to come up with a solution on those select areas.

Grizz, don’t be afraid to help someone out and do a little extra. I pride myself on being the company that goes the extra mile. We tend to be the one they call after the ‘robotic’ bigger companies don’t care what gets damaged or done with a half-assed attitude.

Like you I am new to PW, but over two decades of window cleaning has taught me customers REALLY appreciate the small businesses working extra hard to make sure their houses look the best they can.

Oh BTW, don’t be afraid to venture into the ‘dirtier’ parts of town. After all we are in the CLEANING business, and one little old lady with a shiny, clean house on her block will really stand out in her neighborhood. I did a $30 screen repair last month, she was so impressed I would come out for that it turned into a $1000 worth of other projects. Full screen porch, deck PW, siding softwash, sidewalk clean, and probably her driveway soon…and window cleaning of course.

I’m glad I went out to clean my sister’s house today for a little more practice. I just finished soaking the top vynal part of the house and switched to a 40 degree pressure nozzle to hit the bricks thats at the bottom. All the sudden lost pressure and no water was coming out. I went back to the machine and cut it off. Disconnected my gun from the ball valve and found this lodged in there

My pressure hhose is brand new I ditched that crappy Simpson hose and bought non mark grey hose from envirospec

Not sure what this is. Anyone ever seen this?

Looks like snake skin .

Thats what I thought at first but its definitely plastic. Is there any kind of plastic lining in pressure hose?

Not that I’ve ever seen

I’m worried this might have went through my pump but I’m clueless of what this is

If it came from envirospec there is no telling.

That never would of made it through your pump. .

Had to finish washing the hose with a ball valve. I think some got up in the gun and tips because it wont pull soap now. Pulled great with just the ball valve. I’ll figure it out when I get home.

Why have you or anyone you know had problems with them?
