Alternative Surfactant for House Washing

Tds= total dissolved solids
Ppm= parts per million
Tds is in regards to electrical conductivity based on the salts present in water and ppms is somehow different…not sure exactly how now that I think of it.

Pure water is just that, water with no dissolved solids in it. Due to its chemistry it cleans pretty well and leaves no water spots.

Hopefully you don’t get that call. I’d hate to ruin your streak.

Maybe I’m over thinking the whole process. Buy most of my house washes turn into repeat window cleanings so I’m also trying to avoid extra work in the future.

I spent
maybe a minute looking for TDS in the water reports. Didnt find it and gave up. I knew what TDS was and still didnt find an answer

Lucky here. Our TDS is 26

New here, but couldn’t help but interject, you can see ‘tds’ for yourself by putting ice cubes in water. The resulting floaties are there evidence of what you couldn’t see.

We have always used Joy dish Soap. Always have and never any issues.

This is my “we’ve always used dish soap and never had a problem” face.

If dish soap people would buy a gallon of Elemonator or bleach stable surfactant designed for your PROFESSION I’d love to see your “this what all the fuss is about” faces.

I just switched from Simple Cherry to a locally made surfactant made by “Hyrdo Chem” It’s similarl to EBC…$44 for 5 gallons. It’s called power solve.

Stuff is amazing, decent suds but rinses easily.

I’m interested to check that out.

For the job that started this thread, I ended up using the Arm & Hammer with Oxi as recommended by @Racer. It worked great.

The Elemonator has come in and I’ve used plenty of that now and I’d say I like the Elemonator. For the cling factor and also how it rinses, but you have to use alot if it’s going to mask the smell imo

All of the 6 month old egg stain came off and the customer was pleased.

The power solve does nothing for scent…out of everything I’ve tried the arm n hammer with oxi powder does the best for masking. I usually don’t care except when doing condos…I get tired of old people yelling at us that we are going to kill there plants

I used green Gain dish soap for a year with zero problems but could still smell SH. It rinsed well also. After researching surfactants I bought 5 gallons of Eleminator and won’t go back…it masks the smell quite well and I find it enhances the power of the SH so I could use less on a job.

Lol, Will try it out.

I used elemonator for 6 months before trying green gain. I keep some on hand still, but Gain is my to go to now.

What’s EBC?

I’m researching detergents for power washing.

What is green gain? When I went into the store every kind of gain was green…

I’m not sure the actual scent. Around here I can only find it at the dollar store and there is a few colors but only one green. It might even be original scent. It’s dish soap. Gain is used because it contains nothing that reacts with SH. Same can’t be said for others like dawn.

Which number is it?

I was looking at the original Gain dish washing liquid at the store today because I ran out of Elemonater. The first thing on the label is “do not add bleach” so I was confused. Then I looked at the Dawn ultra and it looks like an identical label to the gain. No phosphates, biodegradable surfactants, etc. Do you know what makes it “bleach stable?”
