12.5% SH downstreamed from 5 to 1 injector?

I do wheel mine around but currently have 100’ of high pressure hose so the bucket I put my mix in stays in one spot until I have to move. When I downstreamed initially I just tried to plan out exactly how I would do the job to prevent a ton of moving around.

Are you using about a 1-2% mix of houses? Concrete?

If you don’t hook it up to water and, just pull it out of the mix bucket, then you’re sucking air. You could be sucking water. Most people use a 3 way valve. Turn it one way for soap and the other for water. Just run the one hose to your buffer tank and you won’t have to have a bucket of water sitting around.

My bad. I knew that… I was walking back to the pressure washer and disconnecting the siphon tube from the washer to rinse. I also would just put a higher pressure tip on and it wouldnt draw chem while the siphon tube was still in the bucket of chem.

I dont have a buffer tank or trailer yet. Everything is loaded/unloaded from the truck bed right now. I have 5gal buckets that i can use for DS.

If you have your machine by the house you won’t really gain anything by down streaming since you’ll still have a bucket of mix to haul. Once you get a trailer I would definitely switch to down streaming.

Most people use about .75-1% for vinyl houses. Concrete just depends. I like going at least 3% if I need to post treat. You should be able to get that with your xjet if you don’t use an orifice.

Gotcha, I would say I think I was as quick downstreaming as I was using the XJet, bc I didn’t have to move my bucket as much when i was downstreaming bc i wasnt worried about a 12 ft tube conncected to the front of my wand.

I still think you’d be faster downstreaming since you’d really only have one hose to haul around instead of two (well, and the garden hose). I did it that way for a bit. It gets old quick. Finally bought enough pw hose so I could leave the washer on the trailer.

What @qons said, they can be hit or miss as far as durability.always have a back up for your back up,and as @Innocentbystander said, before you hook up your hose to your tank or machine, fill a bucket with water to drop your stick into.Rinses your injector and give you better flow for rinsing versus sucking air.

Or, you know…just make an injector remote.

@Racer hey rick I know we talked about needing to use regular 1x greenwash at 10 oz per gallon for the ds mix and I was wondering, that is based off your 10-1 injector correct? If so, I’m dsing with the 5-8gpm nozzle and according to my bucket test I’m pulling 18-1, which seems low but is strong enough mixing straight 12.5sh. My question is, should I be adding 18oz per gallon Of mix since I’m only getting 18-1? Seems like that way the same amount of surfactant would be hitting the wall. I’ve been using 10/gal and it’s not as soapy as some of the videos I’ve watched of other people doing it.

Just get a dual lance and turn the handle to switch between soap and pressure if you want to go that route for now.

If you want more suds then add more. I’d build up to it so you don’t get too much though like try 14 - 1 first time. At 18 oz per gal, going to be using some seriously expensive soap up quick.

But at 18-1 instead of 10-1 the soap comes out nearly half as fast. A side by side comparison of two machines, One using a 10-1 injector with 10 ounces per gallon and another one using 18-1 injector using 18 ounces per gallon in the end should you still get the same exact amount of soap out of the end of the gun? just takes longer to run out of soap with 18-1 injector? Not arguing, I will take your advice and put in 14 next time, I am just wanting to confirm if my thinking is correct on this.

You’re correct on your thinking, but from past experience it may not take full amount. You’ll just have to try and see.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me last week! Will never ever make that rookie mistake again!

This is what I do as well. I sure wish i could afford hose reels for my setup tho

You want to have extras of just about everything especially things that commonly break or things you can easily lose but are essential (like sending a jrod flying off into the woods).

No doubt. One thing I do EVERY time I change nozzles, is make sure my quick connect coupling is push up and locked.
