Your Favorite 8gpm

Hey fellas, I’ve been dragging my feet on upgrading to an 8gpm but things are finally slowing down enough to pull the trigger on a new machine and have the time to do a quick build to get me by for the rest of the year. (Probably do a complete new build over the winter.) My question: what 8gpm unit are you running? The 5.5 I’ve been running was one from Bob and it has treated me well. I’m considering another unit from him but I’ve also read a lot of your posts about the steel vs aluminum frame and countless posts about 3000 vs 3500 psi. If you were going to add another machine (for mainly residential, with the occasional large concrete job… church parking lots, etc…) what would you get? Thanks!!!

If you are thinking about a lot of concrete you need to decide if you need hot water or not

IMO ,SS frame ,Hot washer,8gpm @3500 psi, Honda,Legacy or Udor pump ,10 gallon poly fuel tanks minimum, A good pressure trapped unloader

Don’t really do enough commercial for hot water. 95% residential and plan on pursuing more resi than commercial

Yeah, but you did say the occasional large parking lot. @TDclean. You never know, you might do way more in the future. Now you’ll be covered

If you woek by yourself, don’t put 40 plus hours a week in your machines and don’t have employees that won’t baby it, get an 8 gpm from Bob. If any of that does apply to you, get an udor on a steel frame.

@TDclean Which way did you end up going?

Some guys opened up a PWS right up the road so I went with their 8gpm unit, a 690 w gear driven Udor.
