Worth saving?

hi! new guy here (sorry if this is in the wrong forum)

i currently own 2 pressure washers
the first is a 2000 psi snap on pressure washer (electric, modified it to accept a gas hose)

then there the one i bought recently, its a craftsman 2000psi pressure washer with a gc160,
pump is cracked and the high pressure side is missing (theirs about 1/8 of a cricle left of where to m22 thread was)

so, my queston is, is this pressure washer worth saving? (keep in mind, i paid 40$ for it)
it would cost me around 200$ for a new pump, hose and gun (but it would be bumped up to 3100psi and 2.5gpm compared to the stock 2000psi and 2.0gpm)

would it be better to just keep the motor and keep using my electric one?

or would i be better off selling the snap on and buying all the parts for it?

i was considering rebuilding the original pump but they quoted me 230$ just for parts alone, so thats out of the question for me

(engine looks like it has very little hours on it, looked like it had been used for 2 seasons then left in the shed)

thanks in-advanced!

At the risk of coming off like a jerk, those are homeowner machines that are used for rinsing off the patio or washing the car. The people on here are doing this for a living and that is not the equipment any of use. That said I would put the 160 on a mini bike frame for my grandchildren and save up to buy a decent quality pressure washer. There are lots of threads that will describe what a decent quality machine is for starting out. Best of luck to you.

Are you trying to do pressure washing for a business or just around the house kinda thing?

All I’m doing is just washing small engine equipment once in a while (mostly the customers, some are just filthy!), and i wash the house a few times a month, maybe wash my dirtbike and my car

So really nothing too extreme

I could build me up a really good pressure washer if i wanted to, (i have a honda gx 240 laying around)
Around 400$ for a cat pump, and use the stand that came with the gc engine, bam!

I just dont have the use for a big boy pressure washer, and the eletric one does the job just fine

Mda1775,

I can see what your talking about, those really expensive machines people make a living off of,

I dont require that, most of the time its sitting in my garage anyway, im just hoping on getting something a bit better, as well as save me some money (these machine from big box stores are around 400-600$ new, and thats out of my price range)
