If you don’t have your vehicle lettered up…then I guess you just “Don’t” need the visibility, you “Don’t” need the phone ringing, you “Don’t” want people to remember or notice who you are and what you do…You just "Don’t"need the extra work.
What part of “Marketing”…“Don’t” people understand???..(This doesn’t apply to William, he’s a special breed…Lol!)
This is pure Jibberish and the worst advice any businessman could give. Track mileage on the trailer very easy to keep track of miles, just one example many other ways also. The leads you get might be enough if you no how to manage them to keep you in one state to work
Everyone does what one must. If you have to advertise to get business then I guess you have to play that game. If you are depending on a magnet on the side of your Tahoe that you use for a beer run at night and to pull an open trailer with a 5gpm machine with during the day then you are in a different league than someone that does this for a living any way. My advice, which may be the worst that any businessman could give, is to not letter your truck, have a separate truck for business, get out there and build a business by knocking doors and shaking hands.
I’ll keep my signs AND I’ll shake hands and knock on doors. Your position of having signs on a vehicle making someone be in a different league than someone who does this for a living… I’ll take that as a compliment. Thanks!!
And that is purely by choice. You’ve posted numerous times from the position of wishing failure on others. Why would I want to read what you’re writing?

Professionalism comes from your image and how you carry yourself through conversations, educating your customer on your services and what they can expect from a real professional. If spending a few bucks on a vehicle wrap or some basic decals makes me be seen in my city it only will help grow my business. Having a presence in your city is the only thing that will grow your business into a long term operation. If that involves hitting the streets and door knocking/shaking hands or having recognizable graphics on your vehicle it’s all a plus. A few extra decals and a company T shirt goes a long way when a customer is comparing services with your competitors.
Guys follow you head here. There’s someone in this post who wants all to fail. He’s posted this on numerous boards and other internet avenues. He post things mainly targeted at newbies to get them to fail if they follow his advice. All Clean Powerwashing above is 100% accurate. This individual also wishes all orgs/associations to fail. You can find that to… He maybe able to fool some but he can’t fool all. Tread carefully.
Karma keeps me in business when many others fail. Y’all do what you think is right for your business and I hope you the best. If you think Org’s and Unions are the way, go for it. It is funny to see the many come and go. Everything I have said as far as advice is exactly the way I run my business. Take it or leave it. I don’t care. Follow the ilk of the orgs, stick a magnet on everything or whatever makes you happy. Advice was asked about lettering trucks and whether to have a personal or work truck or both. I gave my advice. Do what makes you happy.
or Karma could be why you are constantly fed up, and want out of your business, and hate power-washing, but hey its just the internet what do I know. I am just busting your chops WIlliam all in good fun, you couldnt possibly hate power-washing as much as you claim to
First you guys have to know William to understand William, and I know William and he’s a good Friend of mine…Does he want you to fail…No…he wants his competition to fail, and in the back of everyone of our minds…in a way…so do we.
His business is probably one of the most successful ones around…but you’ll never see him say so, that’s not his style.
Believe it or not William doesn’t have lettered up trucks, wait he may have 1, but that’s it. So what he’s saying comes from what he knows. It’s his opinion and he has every right to it whether you or I agree or disagree with it.
He is a person I have a lot of respect for.
And that’s my opinion…agree or disagree you have every right to your own opinion.
^^LOL^^ telling people not to letter their trucks, Hoping orgs fail etc… some funny stuff for sure… Friends like that who needs enemies,…lol. At least I can say this…Billy has always been like this on the net for at least the 7-9yrs I read his post… As for Competition… guys on the net 10 states away its fair to say that they wont hurt your business and we do like to see them succeed. Its good for the Industry.
Good morning Guy, I take a man at his word. Here are his words.
" I wish about 90% of y’all would go out of business. "
90% of us don’t live in North Carolina so we aren’t all his competition. My opinion is simply that he’s identified his position and the above statement tells me to respectfully discount his posts. I know nothing of his character personally, I’m sure he’s a swell chap.
The legend known as Innocentbystander has already forgotten more about pressure washing than I will ever know. But I’m still not taking the magnets off of my Tahoe :).
Seriously though, read what the man has to say. Apply what works and ignore the rest. There will come a time when you realize that more often than not, he was right on the money. It takes some folks longer than others to reach that point. It is worth the wait.
This makes me chuckle a bit I admit, because one thing is for sure William can dish it out big time, so I certainly hope he can handle a dose of his own medicine, every once in a while. LOL it is just the internet I am sure he has thick skin and handle a little criticism on his opinion, as we all know he aint afraid to give it to others
I’ll take all the criticism any one wants to give. I’m a firm believer that my way is the right way or I wouldn’t do it. Whether someone takes my advice or not doesn’t bother me. If your way works, go for it. My overalls will still fit either way.
I believe in being professional at all times regardlessnof what vehicle you’re in. Advertising nis keynto growing a business and what better way then your own rising billboard. Ive only been in business for a few months so starting out using me personal pick up truck, making due with what I have. As far as lettering goes I went with a back glass logo, it is clean and professional looking.
