Hey all… As some of you are aware I’ve just started as well, and I must say thanks for so much for All the information you all have put in… It really does wonders for all of us trying our best…
I did a concrete clean yesterday, which I knew I could handle as I did a few before purchasing my equipment and hadn’t had issues with driveways… But this is the first one I’ve done with my own equipment and damn I must say the final result has really got me worked up…
I learnt from racer who told me to slow down in one of my previous jobs coz there were lines, but if u see in this video I slowed the hell down and still so many lines…
I pre treated with a 1% mix, post treated with the same %…
Ive got a 4000psi / 4gallon machine with 5020 nozzles on the SC…
I tried not to over overlap as much as possible most times but the lines kept still coming…
I even tried to clean an section without any SH and same result…
My action was forward back…
I saw a few videos yesterday, mentioning that maybe try going in circular motions…
Could that help?
Was my mix too weak?
I checked my nozzles this morning and they were clean as a whistle…
After reading a fair bit today and after the job yesterday should I go back and hit it with a hotter mix say a 3% and go over with the SC in a circular motion or do you rekon if I go back and pre treat with with a stronger mix it might go away? Or are my nozzles the wrong size?
Please see below pic and video… Any help would be so appreciated guys…
Thanks guys… Any advise will be appreciated… I hope my suggestions after trying to find answeres are the right ones and I could go back and fix it up for him…
I agree with IBS, looks like you took the creme off the concrete. What surface cleaner are you running and how many feet of hose? Your runoff would have been kind of milky looking.
Yeah that’s not striping lines. Those lines are where your surface cleaner actually etched the concrete due to too much pressure. An expensive mistake for sure.
No the runoff was not white at all… Is was pretty clear the water… From what I could tell it was just the SH mix in some areas that I could see in the run off… Also the areas I didn’t put down a mix it was like clear water…
Here are the pics of the surface cleaner and nozzle:
You should probably take that video down. It’s not going to help your cause of they sue you. Just replace the concrete. That’s about a $3k job but it’s the right thing to do.
If you mean he wants to seal his concrete then the sealer is going to make it look much worse than it already does. There’s really only one solution to the problem you created and that’s to replace the concrete.
PM me the video link. Don’t take down, just make private. Then no one can see unless you share the link.
If he’s going to use a coating like cool deck that has it’s own surface texture, that would be fine. If he’s just sealing, as said above, not good. Post a pic of the face of the nozzle. Is it a flat spray? Did the nozzles come with the surface cleaner?
Ok, after watching video, and looking at pictures blown up, I’m pretty sure there was already a coating on the concrete, similar to a deck coating. It looks like you did take some of it off, but if he’s planning on re-coating then no big deal. I might just meet with him and explain that where the marks are is where some of it came off along edges of surface cleaner. May want to offer to help out with re-coating cost. Shouldn’t be much.
If you ever get that type of runoff again, stop. If the concrete has a coating on it, be real careful, almost better soft washing it till you get more experienced. Get the right tips. Where did you find them? They are a legit tip, but not for what you do. What came in the machine?
Those tips are made for car washes, lawn sprayers, etc up to 500psi. With a 50 deg angle on them, no wonder you were having trouble cleaning concrete.
And throw that adjustable wrench just as far into the closest body of water that you possibly can. Far enough that you aren’t tempted to swim and get it.
OK racer thanks for that… I’ll explain that to him and yea lesson learnt big time here…
Those tips came on from the company I bought my equipment from when he sent the machine to me… I didn’t go out and buy new ones and replace em…
I’m pretty sure I asked him what tips he was putting on them as you guys mentioned to me in another post regarding tips, and he did say he’s matched them to the machine…
Thanks again and yes IBS I will throw it as far as possible haha… So where between auz and America and we can meet up and u can show me some tricks of the trade…
