What's holding you back?

Sounds like maybe you need to hire more employees? How many people are on your payroll right now?

Not enough. I lost 2 guys in the past month. So hard to find people

Looks like a snow plowing truck to me, lol.

The only problem with your site is it doesn’t work. Looks nice though. Go to the review tab and aren’t any. Go to showroom tab and aren’t any. If you hover over where it says take a look it pulls up a link for Funeral Home Services. You should fire whoever built this.

What 's your ballpark charge on gutters. I could send you a ton of business if you’re legit. I get asked all the time about cleaning gutters. I tell them to post it on Thumbtack.

Nevermind, I see you wash houses too when I went to your FB page.

Bugger - can’t view it on iPhone!

Hey Racer – thank you for pointing out those things. The site does indeed need lots of work. What I don’t like about Nicejob is that you don’t have any control over your site and you have to go through support to make changes.

Our average ticket price for gutter cleaning is $225 and thats all we do. We used to also do pressure washing, but I niched down to just gutter cleaning and gutter guards. I’d be happy to take some cleanings from you

I have to disagree with you on not having control over your website…I love having the folks at NiceJob do all the work for me, and if I see something I don’t like the process usually goes like this:

1: I see something I want to change.
2: I email Nicejob and describe the changes I want.
3: An hour or two later I get a reply telling me the changes have been made. (I always go check to make sure, and they have always done exactly what I asked)

Personally, I don’t want “full control” of my site because I’m not qualified to, nor am I interested in, running my own site. I love knowing that someone else, who knows what they’re doing, is running my site for me.

That said, I did have to do quite a bit of work at the beginning, putting stuff in my showroom, getting reviews, etc, but that bit of effort was well worth it, and I’m a Nicejob customer for life.

One more thing, @Wilson You may want to email them and request some phone time…if I have major changes I want to make, or something that’s hard to describe, I always like to talk to them on the phone. They are great folks and they always make sure we’re on the same page any time I need anything.

Marketing

Hopefully nothing now! We just officially started. Thank you all for the great advice on the site. We are pressure and soft washing residential and smaller commercial. The advice on insurance, equipment, chems, ett has been truly priceless. We knew a decent amount coming in but would not be ready and comfortable with out the advice. Now we will look at the marketing boards etc and hopefully share and learn there.

Wow, your doing a lot of different stuff for just getting started.

We have experience on our on residential and commercial properties. Its really not that much. Water, pressure, temperature, chems, and best of all advice from the guys here. We are also trying to scale to bring on full time guys asap.

If you’re just getting started I wouldn’t try to rush to find full time guys. Your going to have periods where you can’t even keep yourself busy yet alone someone you’re paying full time. The more money you spend paying someone else the less money you will have really growing your business.

I was just going on your comment that you were just getting started, but when I looked at your site it looks like your covering every area possible. No disrespect, was just surprised since you said you were just getting started. Good luck to you.

Right. Those pics really utilize a turbo nozzle lol. They are probably sample pics.

Thanks. That’s why we are starting in winter in NJ. We will gear up and learn while slow. We have a decent Real estate business also.

Also, if we get anything we can’t handle it too difficult we refer to buffer operations.

No worries at all man, you don’t owe me any explanation. Like I said, I wasn’t being disrespectful at all so I hope it didn’t come across like that. I’m just starting my second year and have stuck to only residential and no roofs my first year so I was just surprised when I saw your comment and then looked at your site. I wish you nothing but success man!
