I would wait and buy a decent machine if you are doing this to make a living

I’m with The Innocent One. I’d save up a bit more and get a 5.5 at the very minimum. For hose, I prefer single wire non marking for cold water and two wire is probably better for hot water. Buy at least 200’ and always keep a spare length of hose. I buy my hose locally but I am sure it can be had much cheaper from other places.

@Innocentbystander

Sooooo, what if someone already obtained a 4000psi 4GPM, and is kinda stuck with it? :rofl:

That certain someone just added lots of additional hrs to perform a task that could of been done In 1/3 less time.

Let’s say that certain someone couldn’t pass up the deal and essentially got it for free and offloaded their unused equipment. I’m a sucker for wheeling and dealing. Also… @Hotshot, thanks for directing me to that thread last night, the amount of information was mind blowing. I feel like I learned so much about two stepping and how those setups work. I found myself going down the rabbit hole and pricing out how to build my own long range remote controlled 2 stepping downstream injection system.

What @Hotshot said. They also limited the scope of work they can attempt to take on. Somebody with an 8gpm unit can bid jobs a bit lower than someone with a 4gpm if both are bidding based on expected time to completion. So, more jobs, less wear and tear, more profit, etc.

@DisplacedTexan you’re definitely right. I love to struggle, there’s just something inside me that says “you can do this… it may take you all week, but you can do it, and do it right!” :rofl:

Man, I’ve been there but nowadays I’d rather pony up a little coin just to save the headache and have more free time. Plus, 8gpm is just way more fun.

Give it away and buy good equipment.

Really living up to that resident grump title eh? :rofl:

I dunno about you, but $3k isn’t a little coin to me right now. Yes it’ll pay itself off, but I’m just starting and trying to get traction in my current market. I’ll upgrade to a 3500 8gpm after I make my first $3k.

I’ll take it. I’ve been wanting a small machine to set up on a pickup for equipment washing. I’ll trade you a couple handguns and a case of beer of your choice.

They’re definitely not cheap but you’ll get a machine that will allow you to do jobs faster and really broaden the scope of work you can do thereby helping you make your money back faster. Everybody has to start somewhere though so you do what’s best for you.

I just don’t grasp the concept of starting a business without having what you need. A dentist doesn’t start a practice with a used toothbrush and a drill.

My dentist for over 10 years dipped more snuff than I did. And I dipped so much back then that I’d go through wrestling practice with one in. My dentist now is boring and doesn’t have any cute receptionists.

Hmmm… I’ll have to pass this time, Have guns, don’t drink lol.

Back then? Wasn’t that only like 3 years ago? :grin:

I love to make analogies/comparisons, but a dentist knows for sure he’s gonna make the $$ back to pay for his equipment in a timely manner. I don’t have that luxury. I don’t know how well this market will do, insurance is through the roof, and I have a lot of illegitimate competitors. I’ll gamble $1000, but not $3000, just not in my comfort zone.

Used to dip a can+ a day. Nearly got periodontal disease on my lower left side, dentist told me to stop immediately.
