What other services do you do?

Bingo

This is why you grow into things. If your just starting out and you try to provide to many things then you will have problems.

Aramark and Google weren’t built in a day

My point exactly. Google started in a garage then they mastered the search engine. From there they mastered maps then calendars, then advertising, then email and the list goes on and on. If they started day one pushing the drive, docs, email, calendar, maps search engine, data sourcing, wallet etc they would have failed on day two.

Tile roof painting- clean roof, 1 coat of primer, 2 coats of roof paint= $3.00 per sq ft.

I’ve been doing brick/concrete sealing for 5 years. I did my very last sealing job a couple of weeks ago. It was good money if you do it right but the headaches of trying to time the cleaning and sealing just right was just too much. Too many issues with weather make it a major hassle for me. Makes for nice photo opportunities though. I loved the end result but it was too disruptive to the schedule.

We’ve been looking into expanding in Janitorial services (commercial only) to keep ourselves up and running year round. Figure winter is a good time to get the ball rolling then build from there but have had issues finding steady contracts. Any recommendations where to start?

Dont add janitorial… add fleet if you are looking for steady year roind work and income. Equipment can be used on both sides and employees are more versitile.

We do commercial janitorial and it is a night mare. People think this buisness is easy to get into with low entry costs. Janitorial is even worse.

I did 27years years ago

It’s definitely tough, like Donerite said, but someone has to do it, that may or may not be you.

They have to know you exist and what you do, leads can come from any lead generator, like home advisor or a sales rep calling to schedule a meeting with a manager. I like to simply introduce myself, tell them what we do and give them my card. (You should always do this anyway)

You try a few ways and see what works, sales in general is hard

Did she tell you to go clean the siding and you never looked back

We researched washing for a year before i got rid of my carpet cleaning business. I was still full time at the fire department but we’ve always done something. I had a framing crew going for years before the building boom dried up. She is definitely my partner.
