I’ve read countless posts on ‘cream’ but what exactly is it? Are we talking about the smooth finish on top of the aggregate underneath?
I’m concerned now that my 4k/4gpm will damage the smoother stuff. Should I be throttling down?

Yes the smooth finish.
And in my experiance, 4@4’s tend to strip off creme easily…
Dont throttle down, put correct nozzles on.
Hey
Give these nozzles a go - 25025’s.
I used 25020’s for years as I was told they are the correct nozzle. However, my 20” is a dream to use since the swap
They will reduce the pressure and massively reduce the likelihood of damaging the cream.
Also, if the concrete is fresh, less than 12-18 months, don’t do it!
(Throttling down the engine reduces flow)
