What I have so far

This is what I started with a 2008 Landa 5-3000SDHW Diesel engine and 4gpm 4,000psi pump. Bought this at auction for a grand total with trailer under $700 from a municipality that used it for graffiti removal. Was told that running condition was unknown so bought a key fired her up and ran a quart of injector cleaner thru her and she runs like a top!

So far I have redecked and painted the trailer and have added a 375 gal IBC tank for a buffer tank. Working on painting the machine, she’s kind of ugly but only 355 hrs.
I have a neighbor who is in the business of cleaning fleet trucks and says he will help me, but he must have gotten busy with stuff.
I have a chance for some commercial accounts for concrete cleaning for drive thrus and possiable a couple of postal vehical contracts.
Guess I’m looking on advice on what to do nextor buy next. I have been reading the forums and blogs for almost 2 weeks before I decided to start up. So I do know I will need to be using SH & surfactants for house washing. But maybe which chemicals would you start with not really knowing what your next job may be?? (Concrete, fleet vehicals, commercial or residential?)
I have been an Alaska commercial fisherman for 35 years so hard work, long hours and being cold and wet is not a problem for me. When I was younger I had painting company but the technology was to blast everything till it falls apart( well not really, I always took care back then too!) I’m pretty sure things have changed.
I have purchased a jrod tip set for house washing, don’t have any idea on a good surface cleaner that this machine would run. How much pressure hose would be a min to start with? I believe good equipment gives you best results with minimal labor.
Was really on planning on just flipping this machine till I found out I may not go back to Alaska for 6 months. My neighbor has told me he has made a great living from power washing and I should put the machine to work. So off I go!!
Happy that I have found this resource!
So if anyone wants to throw some advice this way, I am all ears!!
BTW if I can make this half of what my neighbor said he can make even if it takes a few years, I’ll drop fishing in a heartbeat! I’m here for the long haul!
This is not a hobbie to me!
Thank you!!

Awesome, congrats on your new endeavor.

200ft of hose should be good, also get a spare 50ft for backup. United hose (use the search icon, top right) has been a latest favorite

Get a 16 inch surface cleaner throw that big Ibc tote away and get a 125 gal bigger tank. Get a bigger trailer. because you need room for 2 hose reels. One will have 150’ PW hose on it ans the other will have 100’ of 3/4 water hose. You will also need a down stream injector. If you are applying stuff with a 12 volt puno you will need a mix tank and chemical hose. And to stars with some options, a turbo nozzle to add to your wand, a back up trigger gun and a j rod with appropriate tips for low pressure. Then build from there.

Thank you! I’m excited to get started! I will buy my hose from United I checked them out earlier from a link in another post. I will go with your 200’ + a spare 50!
Always like to have a little more than just the minimum to get a job done!

All of the above things and just make it a point to spend as much time reading on here as possible and you should be good

I’m in the process of having a fabricator build my trailer, exciting times for sure man!

Already looking at a bigger trailer, but will have to make this work for a bit. I think the IBC tote looks kind of cheesy myself but it’s what I have at the moment.
Got my downstream injector yesterday, jrod is on the way.
And need to look for a good surface cleaner

The hose lengths are minimums… Also when you get hoses buy an extra quick connect or 2, a package of viton o rings, a dental pick and have swivel joints on one end of the hose and a Hudson float valve for your buffer tank.

It’s not a matter of “cheesy” it is a matter of safety and being able to work efficiently.

I’m kind of thinking you probably can’t have enough hose somedays! But I will add all of that to the list!!
Thank you for the help!! People on here have been great.

Also go work for your neighbor for free for a month or 2

Safety is always priority, but I know I can’t haul any water in that tank, not on that axel.

Been trying to get something going with him, but we haven’t had a chance to catch each other. Think the holidays he’s been out of town?
But I certainly want to do that. Nothing beats practical experience.

just stick some advertising on the tote to cover “the ugly” and it’ll even book you a job one day lol
