What do you do when there is a veggie garden up against the house?

I showed up to a house once and the guy was putting cardboard boxes over every single plant. I told him there won’t be an issue and he didn’t have to do that, but he insisted I not start on the house until he was done covering everything. He ran out of boxes so then had to start grabbing grocery bags.

I check and if they look ok, I’m still washing. Some people with their landscaping are very particular though. If a customer says anything, I make sure to get a good vid of all the landscaping beforehand as I’m videoing the house.

That’s simply annoying. I’d be like, “I’ll start on the far side and hope I don’t catch-up to you.” lol.

Usually, I try to cover this stuff in the pre-call convo. But it doesn’t always happen.

Nah only $7 here, or $7.69 for diesel

So what’s the actual concern in this thread? Killing a plant or killing a person from eating the vegetables after a wash? Neither one will happen with a regular house wash mix. Covering up plants is a complete waste of time when washing a home, you’de almost have to be trying to kill something with a mix below 1%.

And yes, I understand roofs require a strong mix and some homes don’t have gutters.

It boggles the mind. If folks are concerned about thier plants, call to get the house washed in the Fall. It’s like putting 40 pink flamingos in the yard for a birthday party then calling the grass guy to cut the lawn the next day and expecting him to move them and put them back.

Same thing with mulch - I have one guy that is so worried about the “mulch stain” that happens when they dump mulch in his driveway that he only wants me to wash after they have put the mulch in place. Now that is a good use of a tarp - I guess some just don’t get it! LOL

Yep, I wash my wood fence every year or 2…I do it in October, and I don’t care at all about my plants, lol.
“But, if we do it in the fall, what about getting off all this pollen?” :man_facepalming:

I always get, “we need you to do it right after the landscapers come, because that always leaves mulch/dirt up the foundation wall…” Tell them to use the garden hose, get your house washed when it makes sense… bc it’s somehow easier for us to high pressure that off, and not blast ore up onto it (or the porch, the deck, the walkway…)

I like when the customer schedules the house wash and the lawn mowing on the same day at the same time. Nothing like me coming from around the back of the house only to find the landscape crew has arrived, started, and is edging the sidewalk up to where my hoses cross over it.

At the end of that job while speaking with customer about “what are the odds we both showed up at the same time” the customer replied “oh yeah, I scheduled it that way so I could get everything done at once”.

I’ve had that happen a bunch. Thankfully none of my hoses are shredded, yet. I did lose a traffic cone - I put them at front and back so hopefully they will leave me room. The last guy parked right on it! Kids these days I tell ya…

So true - I unfortunately was doing this in 97 (heat index 107) heat yesterday which was a carry over from the previous day - just ran out of steam at noon and was getting the chills so decided to go hydrate and chill out (no pun intended!)

I removed his clay stains on his fireplace as requested. He then said that it doesn’t match the rest of the fireplace. I told him well, actually the problem is this - your fireplace doesn’t match “clean” so I’m happy to quote you for the rest of it to make it match, but what we agreed upon was to remove the stains at the bottom. Served me right for giving him a super deal as one of my neighbors…

One Restore does a great job on Ga. clay stains though.

There is definitely room for a couple more.

Ive yet to kill something with housewash. I even tried to kill grass and put weed screen/mat down on top of it. grass still grew and no burned parts. Flowers, Id be concerned about.

maybe needed a 2nd application of the OneRestore to get those pesky things off of there… :man_shrugging:

Sorry about all that signature crap - first time I responded via email. I edited to remove that.
Yeah - the watermarks - found someone stealing a couple of my pics so decided to stamp the crap out of them. Surprisingly, One Restore won’t kill logos… Darned if it isn’t listed right there on the label - don’t mix with bleach and 'ineffective at removing logo graffiti…" :joy:

Maybe this?

This is a great link to have, thank you! For my logo though, I’m thinking the backspace button will get it!:rofl:
