Wanting to ditch the trailer and go truck only

PressurePoint, while it was their policy, a guy loading once did say, “well, if you had a thick-thick piece of cardboard cut out and placed over the opening, that would be enough.”

YMMV.

It would just ruin my day to be in an accident and be wadingin a pool of SH while I’m trapped upside-down in a ditch.

I would keep the trailer and only use it when you need it. Sometimes you are going to need a mobile water source etc, but I agree that it can be a PITHA to haul around all the time.

Oh yeah. I decided awhile ago that I’m keeping the trailer.

Good Point. Same here Steve

I’m in the same position. Trying to figure out best method. truck or van. i am leaning toward a truck but i am in New York so the winter could be tough on my equipment being i don’t have a garage. Any recomendations on truck size? Or am i crazy to get a truck and should i go with the Box or van set up? Thank you.

Having used a trailer and truck setup with all the aame equipment on it in a rural area with plenty of space for maneuvering the trailer… truck all the way.

If the option is flatbed truck vs. Van, go with the flatbed. If it has normal besides, go with the van. The flatbed is convenient for accessing equipment. The normal bedsides of a truck ruin that, so you lose nothing by going van instead.

So your vote would be a flatbed truck? Thank you.

Yes. I have never used a van, but I have used a flatbed, standard truck bed, and trailer, and of the 3 the flatbed was my favorite. The question is flatbed vs van. IMO, if you cant get a flatbed, go with the van. If you prefer the security of a van over the accessibility of a flatbed, go with the van. A standard truck bed offers no advantage over a van.

Great and thank you for your help.

Can’t go wrong with a dedicated flat deck truck. I’ll speak on behalf of the trailer guys as well, they also Agee.

I disagree. You can buy or make a skid to use with a standard truck bed. It’s probably the most common configuration out there besides pulling a trailer. Several companies make skids and will deliver out of state.

If you do use a van make sure to vent the SH outside the van or it will ruin the inside as it corrodes everything eventually.

I think ideally this would work best for me. Anywhere you recommend for the skid setup? Thanks.

Love the truck and setup nice job.

Oh that’s not mine just an example.

Washer skids on Facebook makes the nicest skids out there. @Racer has one.

This is my truck. Service body

Impressive nice rig.

To each his own, I suppose, but the convenience of being able to easily reach to the middle of the flatbed without having to get up on the tailgate or whatnot is unparalleled to me. I do like your service body setup, though. Very nice.

Nice! You still have room to access everything too.
