Yeah that’s what I thought, I just got a little confused by the way you worded it. I never done it before myself but I could’ve sworn I’ve read on here and million times that you can just bolt on whatever onto the motor. Thank you for the clarification though!
You can take a direct drive pump off a gx390 and bolt on a gear drive pump with 4 bolts and you’re good to go. As stated here…you can’t just throw a gear box on a direct drive pump
Don’t forget the gearbox in between!
Yeah, the gear drive is a lot bigger and may not fit on the cart.
Here’s a pic of my 5.6 General gear drive and my 4/4 General pumps when I made the swap. You can see the contrast and size difference. While it’s larger, the footprint itself isn’t much larger compared to belt drive
