Trip to the USA 🇺🇸

There are very few reasons to consider anywhere but Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.

But… if you must see a city… Kansas City isn’t in the top 20 to visit. I love it, but other than the National WWI museum and BBQ not a ton to offer.

Although I’m not sure why anyone would want to visit NYC, Chicago, LA… any of them really. But I’m not really into cities. To each their own.

Another option: train trip around the country. They’re reasonably priced and there’s a bunch of different routes. Fly in. Hop on a train, be in a new place every day. Many of them have sleeper cars too. You can stay on a moving hotel.

I agree with what Rick said. I would definitely stay out of LA and Chicago. Someone else mentioned it but if you want to see a city in Southern Cal go to San Diego.

I’m from the Midwest and can say there’s nothing too exciting here. Definitely see Redwood National Park, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon. You can’t beat the Rocky Mountains either. The East Coat is a great history lesson with some great scenery and amazing food.

If you are into more tropical areas and seeing wildlife the Everglades in Florida is pretty cool. It is just a short trip from awesome beaches.

He lives in a beach town that has 4-5 of the top ranked beaches in the world. There’s really no beaches in the US that will compare unless he just wants to drive by out of idle curiosity. In fact I’d like to visit there.

I would suggest the north west. Oregon has a lot to offer. The Midwest is pretty much a lot of the same over and over again. Smokey Mountains are worth a visit imo.

Nothing to see in Ohio, unless you like roller coasters. Cedar Point is one of the best in the country, but they use Perfect Power Wash for their flat work so screw them!

Los Vegas, Florida everglades, Alaska, yellow stone park and Hawaii are all on my bucket list. Ive traveled to other countries more than i have traveled the state’s. Never really cared to travel anywhere in the US. Id rather see other cultures and ways of living. If you drive down 20 neighborhoods in my area you might see 3 people outside. Everyone’s inside on the internet or driving thier golf cart 30 feet just to check the mail. If you go to any or the four countries ive visited you will see neighbors chatting, eating, waving, laughing etc.

Im not saying i dont like USA. I just wish i could see more of this here.

Don’t get your hopes up about Hawaii. There is a lot of resentment from the forced joining of the union by the plantation owners. If you go to strictly tourist spots you might think it’s great but it’s all just a front. Not to mention the waters salt content is unbelievable.

I will say I can’t wait to go to Alaska it’s the last state on my list and I plan on just taking the boat with me and spending a few months.

If you’re into Disney then that’s a great location, not Orlando, just the Disney property, from Disney Springs to the resorts and parks, top notch quality.

Georgia and South Carolina are nice, I’d drive through there checking out restaurants.

Make sure to plan your trip in a way that if you got sick for a fee days you could still enjoy it, maybe by sight seeing only

Lots of abandon cars on Oahu out from the urban areas. There are some gorgeous beaches though.

Yikes! So much info :open_mouth:

Natural wonders, canyons, waterfalls, caves, mountains - scenic things that make you stand in awe. That’s no.1.

I’ve only ever stopped over in LAX for one night - aside from that, never been anywhere in the US, so NYC is probably going to be on the list because I can’t go all the way there and not say I’ve been to the big apple!

I’m making notes of these places, thank you so much for the comments :+1:t2:

I’ve made it almost 50 years without going to the big Apple and it’s in driving distance for me. There are a lot of people there. You’ll enjoy our country better if you aren’t subjected to the idiots that live here

If you want to see culture you have to go to big city’s like Los Angeles , Chicago, Miami and New York. The problem with big city’s , they’re very congested, lots of homeless people everywhere, and higher crime.
If you wan to see nature , then you have to stay on the west cost and see all the natural parks from California , Utah, Nevada , Idaho Montana and my favorite Wyoming ( grand Teton National Park ) .

But if you stay in LA for a week , that’s kinda over kill . You can do LA , sandiego , drive thru sequoia then to San fransico in 8 days . Then fly to the east cost like nyc drive to dc and Chicago and spend another 8 days doing that, then fly south to Florida and do Orlando , Tampa and Miami for another 5 days . That’s probably what I would do . Maybe also fly into Mexico City and spend 2 days there , then fly home . Lots of options, come in spring or fall. The summers are to hot to enjoy and its always more crowded with summer vacationers

If you get to California take a drive up 395. Favorite road in America. Goes right through the eastern Sierra mountains and you’re close to Yosemite and can spend some time in Mammoth Lakes. Incredible area If you like nature at all.

  1. Las Vegas Nevada…from the gambling, to the bellagio fountains, the amazing restaurants, it’s just a very different place.

  2. New York City…especially little italy and chinatown, and you have to experience “THE SUBWAY”…how can you come to the United States and not at least see the Statue of Liberty (although I’d do it from a boat tour not actually go there)

  3. Stone Mountain Georgia (yea I’m biased) it’s like a mini-mount rushmore, great hiking up or down, laser show, lots of fishing nearby, great six flags, as well as beaches, nature…and nothing is like a glass of sweet tea (only found in the south).

I’ve been to NYC theee times for vacations, wife loves it, I hate it. It’s way to crowded and highspeed for me to consider going there a vacation. I would spend my time visiting national parks and US landmarks. If I had to pick one city though to visit I would pick Vegas.
