Trailer Build Advice & Questions

I have a 14’ tandem axle. IBC tote centered above axles. I have a 37hp Kohler and Landa 110v oil hot box.

  1. My first question is where to mount things in the most efficient locations? Hot box directly in front of the IBC? Engine / Pump infant of that or off to the side for easier access/start/stop/maintenance?

  2. Mounting everything - Is it the norm to just mount through the wood decking on the trailer? I’d prefer mounting to the frame but the cross members are few and not located ideally. Also, should I be using rubber mounts on the engine/pump base plate and the hot box or just bolt & U bolt them down?

  3. Chemical tanks - Going to be carrying Ammonium Bifluoride and of course SH. What style and size of tanks would you guys suggest?

I’ll add some pics later. Thanks

I have my buffer tank over the axles and then my hot water machine about 2-3’ in front of that. I then have a 65 gallon chem tank directly behind my buffer. I also have two 20 gallon vertical tanks directly in front of buffer. My trailer seems to pull just fine like this. I haven’t measured the tongue weight yet but haven’t really thought about it until now. I might do that sometime. Are you able to put your hot box and engine side by side?
