Time vs Efficiency

What would you guys say is your most effective marketing avenue or avenues when looking at it in terms of how little time you have to devote to those avenues and the effectiveness of them?

I’m still doing this as a side business and more than likely will be for the foreseeable future which is fine but I’m trying to be efficient in what I spend time doing. My goal is to waste as little time as possible with this business.

On average, I’m currently doing a couple jobs a week whether it’s pressure washing or window cleaning. I haven’t had a whole lot of interest in house washing because I’m in Arizona and I plan on doing window cleaning as only an add on in the future but since I’m not booked out with pressure washing, I take the occasional window cleaning only job.

I’m also trying to be pretty lean in what I’m doing. I really like to look at the cost of acquisition for customers as well as the amount of time I spend on certain things.

Here’s what I’m currently doing:

-Posting in local Facebook groups. (This has earned me a few jobs from essentially no time devoted to it since I mostly copy/paste similar postings)

-Update social media channels fairly frequently. (Hasn’t gotten me customers but I see it as minimal time since I can plan posts in advance and I plan on collaborating with local influencers)

-Door hangers (I ideally do not want to blanket neighborhoods in flyers but I got a good deal online for 2k door hangers that are good quality. I paid a neighbors kid to knock out a couple hundred homes that I think are my ideal customer.)

These all take minimal time to do and also don’t cost a whole lot. What are your best time vs money marketing channels?

Thanks for any input!

  • Yard signs (placed responsibly, of course)
  • Google my business page. Fill it up with quality content and get reviews on there asap

This year I’ve gotten lots of business off yard signs. Put them in front of the homes you want people to know you washed. Word starts getting around that you washed so and so’s house. It gets around faster if your sign is in their yard.

Google and Nextdoor.

Definitely need to get some yard signs! I should have included that I do have my Google business page up and running and have been pushing for reviews on it. I also post the free ads/promotions on there at least once a week.

Google as in adwords or your business page?

I actually have a Nextdoor account/page up and running and have been trying to get customers to leave reviews whenever possible.

You’ll get there, give it time.
