Thoughts on a water based wood sealer and an airplane

Good morning all,
Haven’t been able to find an answer on this one. Straight to the point, I was asked to provide a quote to remove a fair amount of water based wood sealer from the belly of an airplane. Since I like airplanes, I decided to entertain the idea. I’m not sure if just hot water would do it being that it is a non porous surface or if I would need to look at some type of stripper. I’m not sure of the surface type of the airplane, I’m assuming it’s sheet metal or fiberglass. At this point I’m waiting on a return call from the airplane owner to find out for sure.

Once again,
Thanks

If it’s water based wood sealer… could it be a wooden plane?

Sheet metal, would be way cooler if it was a wood airplane.
