Sweater for your jrod

They still look in place, i misunderstood this to be a mod of some sort. Thanks for the clarification. And now I know what to look for in the future

As you can see in the picture of it open, it’s a pretty clear shot. The fins sometimes get in the way of that. While in the open position you can pry them out slightly. Just a small tweak that makes a big difference. I may buy a jrod this spring. But I really like switching on the fly without using the qc.

Had I saw this first I wouldn’t have walked outside in gale force winds to retrieve a pic for you lol

I have my M5DS permanently mounted on a 6 inch nipple with no QC. I tried it with a QC at first and it was too hard to turn. Works perfectly now. You can adjust from an 8ft fan to high rinse stream on the fly. Plus it works great to have a medium fan when soaping /rinsing half way up a 2-3 story home. When I went from 4 to 5.6gpm I noticed the rinse tips were way too high of pressure to rinse with. Now I only use a j-rod to use my Guy Blackmon shooter tip…which shoots about 10-15 ft farther than the high soap tip on a j-rod.

You’re such a good freind. Sorry about those harsh weather conditions buddy but I appreciate it. Sounds like some stuff I’d do

I absolutely HATE to bring this thread back up, but considering it has NOTHING to do with the original topic, maybe it will be ok and we wont go back down that rabbit hole again. But, @Innocentbystander As I stated above a while back, most of what I am washing are brick homes. However, I just added a three way ball valve on my set up and have started rinsing with my soap nozzles and I must say, I do like it. It actually seems to work better. I still like/need my rinse nozzles to hit the brick, but I do like rinsing with the soap nozzles. So thank you sir! I just did a 5000 sqft all Hardieboard house yesterday and it rinsed great. Gotta get used to all that walking back to the trailer though. Or maybe @SchertzServicesLLC will have time now to build those remote systems he has been talking about!

I’ll order the stuff tomorrow and get mine built. I think I have like 25 folks wanting one that have messaged me lol

Do you have a 4gpm machine? When I had my 4/4 in the beginning I use my pressure rinse nozzles on my jrod all the time until one day I removed some oxidation with it. Once I went to 5.5gpm the rinse nozzles were way to strong to rinse with. You’ll get used to walking back to your trailer. The soap has to dwell anyway

So I assembled my jrod this afternoon as I was putting the final touches on “beast”

I tested it out and I wasn’t super impressed over my m5 twist. It shot a little higher than my twist but maybe by a couple foot. It seemed to have just as much “mist” produced as my twist as well.

Can’t really see the advantage over the twist. Seems like more labor changing it back and forth.

I’ll try it on some houses tomorrow but I’m not impressed so far!

I use the m5 90% of the time. And keep a j-rod with a 0060 tip on 6” extension in my pocket to reach peaks on windy days.

Ok, so I will take back what I said. I’ve gotten used to the j rod and I haven’t picked up my twist once this season since I have it. It’s nice having a couple high pressure tips for blowing stuff off concrete or sidewalks. The high soap is a little tighter than the twist. Don’t use the fan soap much but I should!

Fan soap is what i use 70% of time… use the rinse fan tip for rinsing 2nd story except for peaks and gutter faces ill use high soap tip as needed…
