I dont like the M5, it mist too much and doesnt shoot as high as my shooter tip.
Also requires two hands to twist once you get a little dirt in the mechanism, or else it just spins in the O ring.

As for the sleeves, i dont think its a bad product, especially if you have 2 different gpm machines.
Ive had to hunt down a jrod before.

I spray some lube in mine occasionally and it still spins easy. I also found that by prying the fins out a bit it won’t mist much at all.

So much better. More reach and longevity. Xjets used top be made with Admiral tips and they lasted for years. Now the fins are paper thin and you’re lucky to get 6 months out of them.

What do you mean fins?

Also are y’all talking about the m5 xjet or the m5ds?

The metal plates inside the plastic housing that clamp together to give you the different spray patterns.

I personally was talking about the m5ds, but they are both the same thing. Even with my modified xjet I prefer the jrod

Fins are what straightens or widens the stream. The two nozzles are identical from the fins forward. When Ken Sapic bought into Xterior when the owner Mike retired, he brought out the downstream version of the xjet by plugging the pick up tube basically

I don’t own an xjet nor a m5ds, but I don’t see how it can get much easier than a jrod. No walking back and forth to the truck to swap from mix to water, just swap nozzles and keep moving. Maybe I’m missing something with the m5ds, but I love my jrod and can’t imagine swapping.

So you rinse with high pressure?

Jrod is nice but you only need a three nozzle one. If not you will be e tempted to rinse with high pressure to avoid going back to the truck to switch from soap to water.

Mine isn’t high pressure. Its a little more pressure than the soap nozzle, but I wouldn’t consider it high pressure.

Good rule of thumb, if it’s high enough pressure to stop the soap, it’s too high to rinse with. Unless your washing concrete or some such surface.

Duly noted sir. I can’t remember right off what tips I have in my jrod, but I definitely wouldn’t consider it high. A little more than my soap nozzle, but that’s all. But I will take a look and see. Thanks

I will say though, I don’t have much vinyl in my area. Most of what I am washing are brick homes.

If something is working for you, don’t change because of me. We’re are in breezeways all day that ate about 5 or 6 feet wide. Can’t use any pressure. You flow more water rinsing if you are downstreaming water. GPM is king

Do you have guys that soap and guys that rinse?

Not typically. I’ve done it before with some success but found that it is more efficient to divide buildings into sections and each guy soap and rinse his part.

@SchertzServicesLLC can you describe what you mean by prying the fins out?

Look inside the nozzle. There are two thin fins. You have to bend them back into place occasionally.
