Surface cleaner

what size is best for a 4gpm 4200 psi machine i have a 29 inch i think its to big should i use a smaller surface cleaner thanks

It really depends on what you are cleaning, 29" is big for most machines.

When you say 4 Gpm 4200 PSI im thinking 16 -21 surface cleaner. What do you many to clean with it?

Mostly driveways

All I can say is 29" is too big for the flow you have available. I would check out some videos of driveway cleaning and check out what people are using. 4 Gpm is a bit low for flat surface cleaning in my opinion.

16-20 inches. Several guys on here recommend 4" per GPM

I’ve got a 19" with 2 bars and a 24" with 3 bars.
Both work great.
I think the 3 bars helps a lot on the 24" though

Who makes the 24

Mine is a BE whirl-a-way.
it wasn’t cheap though.
I believe I paid about $750 for it last year.
You could get a 19" hammerhead or whirl a way for $300-$400.
I liked the 24" though since I’ll be upgrading to a 5.5gpm machine this year.

Thanks

Jeremy. With the machine you have, the biggest S.C you should use is a 20". Anything bigger and you will have to move extremely slow., so it’s all relative. You might get the job done at the same time, but you will be moving like a snail, and that will aggravate the heck out of you. When I had that pump and I used the 20" hammerhead (still do). I upgraded to a 5 gpm on the same engine, and the S.C definitely went faster. If that is the same pump I had, you should have a replacement in the wings. It doesn’t last. I got 5 months out of mine before it tanked.

Do yall know if they make a 19 or 20 inch s.c with big wheels or do they hover

They make both. If you are doing mainly residential, go for the floater. Casters can be annoying on uneven and tight spaces.

How much can you spend?

If you want smaller with big wheels go with the Lil Big Guy. It is a special order. Ask Russ at Southside Equipment, Inc. about it, he may be able to get you one.

Lil big guy sounds like what I’m looking for thanks

for your machine I would say no more than 20" with it being only 4 GPM. Anything more and you’ll be walking at a snail’s pace.

Whisper wash classic (yellow)
Very high quality swivels makes small machines work very well. I’ve had hammer head and still use it on bad/rough/rocky surfaces. But the classic is exceptional. Very worth the cost
