I ah…managed to mess up my Ultra 19”. @Innocentbystander will say “told you so”, I was checking the nozzles with it flipped over and didn’t let the bar stop spinning before righting it. The bar hit one of those metal clips that hold the skirt band and it started vibrating.
Uh oh.
Today, I cleared the nozzles and took a closer look, pretty much expecting the swivel or bar to be damaged. Turns out the bar was hand-tight, causing it to vibrate. Seems when the bar made a sudden stop, the swivel nut had enough momentum to loosen.
There is no way your bar hit one of those metal clips holding brush on unless clip was loose and dangling down or you had in a vice squeezing the housing, lol. There’s a good 1/2" clearance. You may have hit something, but it wouldn’t be the clip. The bar should only be firmly hand tight.
That’s if you take the lower nut off that’s attached to arm. By the way, You have to be careful when ordering spare bars because on some models they changed size of nut that came with. Anyway, watch and learn. Something you’ll need to do eventually anyway.
I’ve broken a couple by the bar hitting the skirt. They flex and if you bump it against a step riser or something the bar will smack the rivits on the clips and make a mess
Look at where the guy in the video was holding it when he tightened it. The general public would most likely hold the ends of the bar and turn the bar into a torque wrench essentially stripping the thread. That video is correct.
