Stone wall

Got asked for a quote for stone and sign wash. Any suggestions on pricing and what mix to use and how strong. Any suggestions to get the job well done are appreciated

How do you usually price your jobs? What kind of equipment do you have and how high up are you being asked to clean?

I am using 3gpm 3000psi. It’s not that high up. About 15 ft

Usually price per hour.

Hey man :wave:t2:

Just some friendly advice here

The term “strong mix” and “hot mix” gets thrown around a lot these days. Usually referring to SH.

Looking at that job, it’s mainly ambient pollutants, not mold.

If you haven’t done this work before, be very aware of the liability potential here. The time of cleaning, the run off etc. it’s very public.

Also the potential damage to property, the sign I mean (looks back-lit).

Regarding cleaning, you might find EBC useful, and there is a spot of mold there too perhaps.

Personally, I’d use a 12v system, due to the strength of chems needed, and the time it will take downstreaming.

Jet-Away what is EBC?

It’s a degreaser called enviro bio cleaner. It’s good stuff.

Thanks for the info I’m gonna have to check into that

I don’t know where people order from I have a local vendor that carries it. I know sometime Sherwin Williams carries it.

Backlit awnings or even just regular awnings made from vinyl are low low pressure. Not much more than garden hose. It is the seams you have to be most careful off. I would use low pressure rinse and a soft bristle brush to clean the awning. The rest of it is very generic and easy to clean.

Set up ladder, rinse and apply a mild cleaner to awning, sign and backing (even just a dawn soap solution). Hit it with the soft bristle brush and rinse.
Everything else (stone work), I would start with low to medium pressure wash. Might throw some EBC or degreaser and see how it goes. If needed perhaps a bit of SH in a pump up. In and out in an hour to hour and half.
