Soft washing questions

Hello all…I have been Pressure Washing for awhile now but have been wanting to get into soft washing. I have a Simpson 3600 psi 2.5 gpm unit. Yes I know…only 2.5. I am looking at a 4200 psi 4.0 gpm unit as we speak but for now I will be using my 2.5. I had a couple questions regarding chemicals and also nozzles. First off, would I be able to reach the peaks of 2 story homes with an xjet m5 nozzle? Also…what is everyone using for chemicals on soft washing? I have been doing research and it seams like a lot of people use sodium hypochlorite, water and a surfactant like dawn dish soap. The main reason I’m messaging is to make sure I use the correct amount without damaging siding or landscaping. I would be using the xjet m5 and a 5 gallon container. From what I have been reading…25% sodium hypochlorite (10%) mixed with 75% water and a few oz of dawn would do the job…but I just wanna make sure I don’t damage anything. Any ideas or professional insight would be greatly appreciated. I have been doing very well but would like to do better with 2 story home. Thank you.

@Chris any update on the search bar??

My search bar is working fine and has been. Not sure what all the problems are than everyone has been talking about.

Weird…but lucky lol. It redirects me to the Window Cleaning Resource on my phone and computer

Why is everyone having a conversation under my question thread? Just curious

Someone here must have done this. Fess up :joy:

Theres 2 different xjetting… one is xjet and the other is M5 twist nozzle. Depending which one youre talking about it basically comes down to this:

X jet: need to use proportioners (or not) and need to lug around a 5 gallong bucket (which is not fun). Need to deal with pressure hose + xjet hose (which is not fun specially arounds vegetation or shrubs). On top of all that, you better hope you never drop that bucket of bleach on grass cus you will have some fun time replacing sod (happend to me lol)

M5 twist nozzle: downstream bleach but not very strong mix compared to xjet. But no more hauling around buckets (yay!!!)

I never dilute my mix, i use to but found i wasted more time trying to save a few pennies than all the effort was worth.

use the small magnifying glass up the right top corner

Or just get a 12 volt and be done with it

Because all your questions have been answered hundreds of times. You just need to search for it, but on a phone some people been having trouble with the search. If you’re on a computer should be fine.

Normal.

But anyhoo…

Be sure to get a belt drive washer, skip the direct drive units. Save your money if you have to.

Sometimes there’s a lot to be learned when everyone starts chasing rabbits on here. Just read

It doesnt even allow you to community search anymore on iPhone it takes you to wcr store shows you topics from 7 years ago and that’s it.
I’m waiting for official announcements to come out after HUGE. “We’re sorry to inform you” lol

‘‘Tis the way of the PWRA”

To search on google, type in pressurewashingresource.com and right after, in quotation marks, put search words in.

That, or go here and scroll down to the search box under “Community Search”

I have waited for this question to come along for so long and I completely missed the party. And now that the moment has passed I still can’t think of anything witty to say.
