Slave Life on the Google YouTube Plantation

I normally don’t complain, but…
If your thinking of starting a YOU TUBE channel you may want to rethink it before you invest a lot of time and money. They have all kinds of rules you have to obey. Just when you think you are doing everything right and abiding by THEIR agreement they up and change the rules… Google is already famous for destroying thousands of small business with its marketing practices via Google search and now Google keeps its ““Partners”” in line by demonetizing channels and putting more chains on its creators. If you or I did this to we would be out of business. The Google says I have 30 more days to get 500 subs… Unbelievable… They don’t seem to get it. It is NOT about the puny amount of money they pay, it is about making an agreement with someone and then breaking it… Wake up Google…

Never mind, I watched some of your videos and they are good.

Power washing has a limited market. You have a lack of subscribers for that reason.

@Greg755
I watched your video and I hear you. I too have until 2/20.

But have you read the reasons why? Now, whether to believe them or not is a personal choice but I believe in the long run it will make it better because there will be less monetized junk, allowing those funds to be distributed better to actually good, constructive content.

So,keep making content. Do it because you want to and because it helps other people. I will continue to create the content and will eventually meet their thresholds, as will you if you don’t give up.

Additionally, your growth rate will increase dramatically by fllowing YT BMP’s. (Yes! I can finally use that abbv. without having to explain what it means.)

Here are some examples:

  • tagging your videos
  • properly Titling the video
  • eye catching thumbnails
  • consistent schedule of uploads, preferably at least one day of the week viewers can count on a video from you
  • Content is King. Make that content as relevant to your audience and it will grow
  • Good quality Audio/VIdeo. If filming with a phone, make sure aspect ratio is set to 16:9 and the camera is horizontal.

A great channel for tips and education is Derral Eves.

This is what you wrote… I will reply below
“”"You’re uploading content for free. You are not making enough for Google and you expect them to foot the bill for their servers, hosting, backups, storeage, etc. These things cost a lot of money to run.

Two years and you are still holding your camera in the vertical position?

Google is great. I made this one video and I get paid around $30 a month for it. Obviously you can see I link to the boots in the picture through amazon and get a percentage of the sale.

I used the phone in the verticle position because it was freaking midnight when I got the email and it was a knee jerk reaction.
Google is not free it is hundreds of hours of free labor plus costs of equipment and soft ware that they don’t pay for.
In addition I don’t care about the 150 to 200 dollars that I have made. Who gives a crap… What I care about is they set down rules you work, hard play their game ans they keep changing the rules. So you work harder and they cahnge them again.
Google is NOT GREAT they have destroyed many small ma and pa business because of the way they Handel their listings. SEO is a joke, Having to have twitter, Google plus, YouTube and all the other games just so you can get listed at the top of the organic listings only to be buried buy people like HA or people who can afford 2 to 10 grand a month in AdWords/adsense is a Joke.
Also when people buy this stuff they don’t even know what they will pay for key words or terms because Google has a bid system in place that is not even open or honest. You can’t even budget tour marketing plan because they won’t tell you what each search costs, unil after they make up a price.
Since Google accepts bids, that means that they are auctioneers… If you look up a little thing called the Sherman act, you will see they are breaking the law. I can’t believe a big law firm, has not brought up a class action suite against them…

I deleted that post to be nice, why bring it back up?

It sounds like you are just not keeping up with the times. That is not Google’s fault. Adwords is great if you know what you are doing. It sounds like you don’t look up long tail keywords to start.

I have also paid 100% of my bills with adsense in the past, so you can say what you want about google.

If you hate google so much only use bing.

I do use Bing. The only time I use Google is because I have to ie Google plus and you tube. I do plenty of research on key words.
By the way for a guy who only has 1 video from 2 years ago you really don’t know what your talking about,
The only reason you have a lot of views is because you did a vid on some generic high volume high profile product - big deal.
Secondly you have not made any money on this vid because even under the old rules you had to have 100 subs to monitor and you only have 93. So you tube has not paid you 30 dollars a month.
You really should NOT lecture people about you tube when they have 140 plus videos and you only have 1. When they qualified to be monetized and you have not, when they have consistently spent many hours every month building their chanle while you have done nothing…
In reality YOU are not keeping up with the times.
I shared the post you deleted because I don’t like the way you are constantly bashing people and talking out your star, Christopher, if that is even you…

To the Bubble guy…
If you look at Darrell Eves live streams and Nick Nimmins live streams you will see where I have been a moderator for them, so thanks for the suggestion on who to watch…
But I have slacked off on consistency but regardless its not about how fast I am,growing… Slow and steady is the way I like it. IT IS about how You Tube and Google treats the very people that make them what they are.

Amazon affiliate sales not adsense from google. That video does make on average $30 a month through amazon affiliate sales.

Adsense was from my portfolio of websites that I have created and bought over the years through flippa.com

I actually have a lot of accounts like that with only a few videos on them. Stop thinking you know everything about me. You only know what I show you.

Kind of funny that a 10 minute video makes $360 a year and your 140+ videos gets $150 over the life of your work. I’ll sit on my ■■■ and get my $30 a month until those boots are no longer sold on amazon lol.

I never said I know all about you. Can only comment on the facts. Since you never show any proof if videos or web sites or anything like that I can only comment on the 1 video that is supposedly yours…
First off if you just sit on your ass and do nothing then you dont make money. It takes time and effort to make videos, to join affiliate programs and more importantly to promote them with blogs and websites. So that right there shows me your in fantasy land.
Secondly if you looked in the descriptions of my videos you would see that I have plenty of affiliate links.
My objective with you Tube is not to make a lot of money. It is to help people. But you… If you make so much money sitting on your ass as you claim then, why are you interested in pressure washing. Its hard work and costly to operate… That does not fit in with you clearly stated master powers of making easy money on the web…
You need to grow up and quit BSing everyone.
You are here to learn how to pressure wash from people who know how. That is the truth and there is nothing wrong with that. Stop pretending your some thing your not. Your just wasting yours and everyone’s time…

I’ve been considering a you tube channel for several years now. I have a few nice cameras, go pro, iPhone, 4K drone, Fuji DSLR, 1080 web cam, etc, some audio stuff like Shure mic on a desk stand, pro mixer, lapel mic, and all that. But you are right, it’s a lot of work creating a quality video, doing the editing, and promoting it. Every time I think about doing it I change my mind because I just don’t see the return on investment. Good luck.

Use it as a sales funnel. Make a website. I will private message you one that I started, but lost interest in.

Hey Steve. I never figured on making a lot of money with mine. It started as a way to show some PPG guys some pointers.
Then some reviews and open box stuff. After that just general how to tips on various things. So I have a varried audience.
The other thing is Google loves its slaves to be updating every day or every week, which I certainly don’t have time for.
At the end of the day I just like to put up things to help people out. Soon I will be live streaming once I get it down smooth I will only make it available to people I invite. I do enjoy it for the most part.
My problem with Google is they make an agreement with you one day and then they always go back on their word. This is a consistent problem with them.
With all that being said, if you want to work at it full time, then you can make some good money at it. But it won’t come from Google, it will come from products you produce and sell, affiliate links, training courses, superchat and things like that. Tie that stuff in with a daily or weekly BLOG and VLOG along with a website then you just the it all into a" buy it now sucker e comerce landing page" aka sales funnel and you will make a killing. Also if you happen to have a good looking wife or girlfriend or super model handy, your sub rate with increase dramatically. Not being sexist its just the way it is on you tube…

Why don’t you try niche blogs? I have made, bought, and sold quite a few. Try flippa.com $6k should land you around $400 a month in 100% passive income if you purchase the right sites. Hide your sites if you find a niche and start making money with adsense on a blog, do not tell anyone about it. Your family, friends, jealous people etc will click your ads and get you banned. It’s entirely possible, but super boring and even though you make really good money at it, it gets old fast. That and if you make them yourself it takes at least 3 months to get any traction.

P.S. Thanks for subscribing
