Roof pre-wet ALL or some? + SEARCH BROKEN

When I search, it takes me to the shop search.

Sorry. I can’t find any posts on here at all anymore via the search.

I just wanted to know if you guys pre-wet certain types of roof or all types when doing a roof with a 12v system?

TIA :+1:t2:

Search works fine for me, just have to scroll down some.

Yeah? I only get those three steps - nowhere to scroll to.

I search on here, it takes me to shop search and that bounces to the window cleaning site.

Someone will reply anyway - I don’t care ha ha.

I have to do a roof soon, my first BIG job 12 houses in a complex. Thing is, it’s forecast rain for a while here, so that’s why I ask about pre-wetting

These are the tiles…

How did ya test areas go? It looks like they may clean up ok.
Why did you want to pre wet or are u just thinking its possible it will rain while u are doing job and that may pre wet tiles and affect % delivered.
Btw I got hammered today, did a nice house wash that was really dirty but cleaned up sweet then went to a staircase that I’m wet sandblasting and got covered in debris and had a storm roll in before we finished.
Tommorow it’s going to be flash rusted up and I’m going to make more mess…

I don’t pre wet unless it’s a metal roof and really hot out. It shouldn’t really affect the outcome. If necessary, a bit hotter mix should do the trick.

I did a test area, but it just soaked up the 50/50 SH mix on two small sections.

That’s 25L, so the whole roof is a million times bigger!

I was thinking that if I wet it, it wouldn’t soak in as much and go further. Otherwise I’m going to be using hundreds of litres of SH - unless that’s normal…

Update on those machines - I’ve nearly got a deal on the electric setup. He’s at $600, I’m at $450…

The petrol one hasn’t replied yet.

@APW1 thanks man! Umm hotter than 50/50? I’ve never done anything this big before - I’m still organising the equipment, but it will pay for it outright :+1:t2:

The yellow dot in the centre is the bit I tested. It’s all the buildings with the red/orange tiles…

That roof shouldn’t need more than 4% strength, which in a 25 gal tank is 10gals of SH and 15 gals of water.

Ok so I’ll likely be getting a 100L tank, a touch over 25GAL. Perfect.

That’s 40% CHL 60% water according to your chart. So 50/50 isn’t that far off

That will cost me $50 in chlorine - is that about right?

Hmmm but how far will that get me roughly?

It’s roughly 1gal of SH per 100sqft.

Got it :+1:t2:

How much per liter does your SH cost you? I figure about 50 sq. ft./per gal unless a walkable roof, which are pretty rare around here. But that one doesn’t look too bad.

$1.25 per litre Rick

So half of what APW1 said hey…

I’ll be walking this roof for sure. All of it.

That should be a pretty easy job but if ur only bringing 25 gal of mix that’s going to suck. I try to have at least 40gal when I do a 2500sq ft house

That’s $4.73/gal, not too bad.

After you search you need to scroll down more. I’m also on an iPhone there’s just empty space.
