RFP for Washing/Gutter Cleaning 48 Homes, 106 Villas, 199 Duplexes

Annual Contract: 2 Gutter Cleanings (Spring and Fall) and wash in the Spring. Sorry, I don’t have any pictures but can provide them over the next week. We are only permitted to use water spigots at the clubhouse… NOT individual units. This will be the largest job I’ve bid (If I decide to). I’m not overly concerned about washing but the gutter cleaning has me a little worried. Some are 2nd story and not walkable. What is the best solution for these type of gutters if you need to do a lot of them? Some gutters won’t have any debris in them at all whereas some will be full so I find it a little difficult to predict or give a fair quote. @Innocentbystander I know you have experience with gutter cleaning. Would you run away from this job?

Well, I did 124 ‘patio home’ units in June, half were two story.

Most gutters came pretty clean with housewash mix but a few required my 12v at 2%. I did hit the lower gutters with my HP fan tip.

I hooked up to spigots at each unit, the water bill is shared among everyone and rolled into their HOA fees. You’re gonna be hating the clubhouse hookup, hope you have a massive tank.

I don’t know what to tell you about the gutters being stuffed, unless that’s part of your services I’d suggest the HOA prez get that done first.

They want the inside of the gutters cleaned. Regarding water, I’d likely rent a water truck (We can’t use hydrant meters here).

Maybe roll that into the price and sub it out to a gutter cleanout company.

Why not? Message me an address to look at them and I’ll give you ideas

Maybe reach out to a local high school kid or college kid with a drone to see about paying them a small fee to fly around and check out the gutters?

I’ve been racking my brain in what to do with my Tele scoping pole, this may be it. that is if i ever do gutter cleaning again.

Tape a mirror on the end of the pole. It’s how we checked gutters when we did them

Not sure on your state laws but, if you don’t need a license to operate one for business purposes, the drone idea actually sounds great. Who knows, may even be able to clean some gutters out with the wind created from the rotors.

how big of a mirror do you need if it’s 25’ up?

I got one out of the bathroom drawer. Maybe 8 inches? I’m a good husband so I helped my wife look for it a couple weeks later.

If you don’ have eagle level eyesight for a mirror…one of these will connect to your phone or tablet…

EDIT: Sorry, forgot the link…these are Bluetooth

USB borescopes with long wires can be had for cheap. Just need a pole or something to get it up there.

‘Bluetooth’ always makes me think of that kid in kindergarten that colored his teeth with magic markers. The teachers had him brushing his teeth at the water fountain for a good while & he still went home with multi colored teeth haha. Good times.

I use a go pro type device and attach to my 40 foot carbon fiber pole. It connects to my iPhone and I can see everything very clearly, works great….

We do lots of gutter cleaning. Ladder up and git r done. Use hand held leaf blower to blow them out. You can make all the mess you want cuz your coming back to wash. Make sure you clear every downspout

Lots of gutters and quite awkward. We are a team of 3. We will have our work cut out for us if we get the bid!

Skip the unnecessary gutter cleanings and wash those roofs… :grimacing:

The roof wash will probably clean most of the gutters
