Remote unloader pros and cons?

Heard word that a remote unloader is advised. Can to give reasons for such? I assume the unloader would be mounted remotely off a whip line, the line I suppose absorbs stress off the pump body? I assumed these pressure knocks most likely may crack or weaken the pump body?? Like hammer over time? I am ordering an 8gpm/3500psi and I see the optional block mounted unloader, is this really necessary or an upsell tactic? Thanks in advance.

Get the block mounted unloader.

Then, when you get your machine…start it and listen…you will understand why the unloader should be mounted off the pump.

Is this legit or is it that kind of backwards advice where it’s really best to not get the block mounted unloaded?

I want to know the reason for the remote mount? All I can figure is a remote mount involves a flexible hose, dampenning the hammer effect. Couldn’t you fit that yourself?

Yes…the unloader hammers the pump.

Like I said…get the block mounted unloader…that is the only advice that you see anywhere. Do you suspect that all of these folks are trying to mislead you?

Jeez, I’m just trying to understand the mechanics for the differences. “Get the remote, trust me, don’t listen to others” , doesn’t cut it with me, that’s all. I’ll stop asking for advice here, as it seems to always be met with tailored response.

Dont stop asking for advice. I think his comment was partly, or perhaps entirely, directed at jzbree.

Mounting the unloader remotely is recommended to prevent excessive vibrations from damaging that connection.

Are you also asking if mounting it remotely can be done yourself, instead of buying the special block? That i dont know.

You can mount the unloader remotely, yourself.

You will need to purchase the block and needed fittings to connect.

To me it sounded like he was asking if it could be achieved without buying the special block.

Maybe he was asking if the buyer could do it instead of the vendor, in which case what you said applies.

You are probably right…I misunderstood that.
