Yeah, same price as the Walmart stuff. Just a matter of stocking up whenever they get shipments. Once I grow the business and remain steady I can get it shipped in some bigger quantities, but have to be able to use it in a timely manner.

I dont want to disclose my location just yet since I will have competition, I dont mean to come off offensively  thanks for the replies everyone

You’re going to have competition anywhere you go. Get used to it. There are at least 40 within 15 miles of me including some biggies. I doubt anything you do going to affect them or vice versa. There’s a ton of business out there and how you position yourself in the market much more important than the competition along with how well you take care of your clients.

Buy a slightly used one already ready to roll !! Half the price they are plenty out there.

Especially since you’re obviously new it may be a good idea to make friends with other pw companies in your area and not view them as competitors. I’ve got a guy that’s on this board we’ve actually bid against each other but we’re not competitors we’ve become friends and flip each other work and bounce ideas off each other. I get it that you’re young and have it figured out. this is a great industry but it will humble you quick. you’d be a lot better off not coming across as being cocky. Most of the guys here are extremely helpful and like helping others succeed

Exactly. We have an annual dinner around here so we can all get together and I’ve got several that we refer work back and forth, help each other out on large jobs as well as share info and help on how to do certain jobs, equipment, prices, etc. Best thing you can do is get to know your competitors. Everyone has their strengths.

I’ve flipped jobs to my competitors that don’t even know I exist but because I keep my eyes and ears open I know who specializes in what and some things are just out of my wheelhouse.

Yup, we do the same with window cleaning. I can’t do chandeliers or high interior ceiling fans so I refer to another company with more manpower.

This forum has helped me and countless others put food on the table and provide for our families. Everyone on here has good intentions and an even better sense of humor. Just like others have said: competitors aren’t the enemy but might just be the people you call to come help you finish out a job that you got in over your head on.

Thanks for the advice everyone! My favorite quote is “No man is your enemy, no man is your friend. Every man is your teacher”

Quick question. Why the F are softwash proportioners/metering devices $350+ pre built! For a couple pieces of PVC and valves? Insane!

Quality metering valves are expensive.

Those are the cheap ones.

I live in Florida and it’s Very competitive. Prices are low compared to a lot of the other states. You’ll need to spend a good portion of what you make in advertising just to keep one truck going. Before you choose an area, you may want to google Pressure washing in that area. It’s likely you’ll have 40-50 competitors.
It’s easy to get discouraged here when starting out. If you can fight through the first year (or 2) to establish your name then the work will start flowing.

Yep, up to around $1100. The quality valves aren’t cheap plus “added dealer profit”. $350 is cheap.

I would go with at least 200’ of Pressure hose. You will be aggravated with only 100’.

I’ve googled the area and i only see 3-4 conpanies with over 5 google reviews… Only 2 have a website and look like they softwash and come off as professional, the other 2 have photos of them standing on a ladder with a 4gpm or smaller pressure washer and looks like theyre going full psi against siding and concrete lol… Ive been in ecommerce for a little while so ill try to stay optimistic in that area! Networking and word of mouth is the hard part after building up a professional appearance for google search engine optimization

Ill try to build my own proportioner I guess, Ive found a couple threads with tips… The valve sections really are expensive thats crazy… But im not paying for a prebuilt thats marked way up

And yes I have 2 100’ in my shopping cart… Ive heard mixed reviews on having one long 200’ or 2 100’ connected together
