Research deep cycle batteries and how to charge them

I don’t run deep cycle since I never actually drain mine. Optima red top are ok. Have had better luck with duralast in the cold over the optimas.

That’s nor how that works but not my monkey

If I understand correctly, a deep cycle battery is used because it’s made to drain most of its life out before having to be recharged, where as a normal battery is just for short periods?

This is correct. It may not be ideal to run standard battery’s but I get 3 year warranties with mine at auto zone. If it goes bad because I’m misusing it then I just trade it out for free!!

Looks like I need a new battery , are the Duracell batteries any good ? Need DC24MF , let me know what you run and how long it last . The dead battery was a centennial

Cheap Auto zone lawn mower batteries. $40. About a year.

In the spring in my area NAPA and a few others all have lawn tractor batteries on sale for about $19.99. If you don’t have a battery to trade in then you have to give them $10 more (some BS core charge law or something). I have one on my generator, one on my diesel tank pump (for my zero turn and big tractor), and another on an old lawn tractor. I rarely recharge them, but they aren’t used a lot (do sit in the cold all winter). They normally recharge in less than an overnight.

Went with the Costco interstate battery , came with a 3 year warranty. Total cost out the door was under $85 , can’t beat Costco’s warranty

I got the same kit to wire my deep cycle marine battery for the 12v system. I think I got the positive side figured out thanks to the video. (I got the secondary fuse box as recommended.) How did you wire the negative side? Did the truck battery side negative side go to ground and only the positive travel to the battery in the back? My knowledge of the electrical things is pretty rusty…

I am using a deep cell marine battery to start my PW because that’s what I had. It seems to start just fine. But since deep cell batteries don’t have the cold cranking amps that regular batteries do, will i damage the battery in the long run? I don’t want to destroy a $100+ battery.

Yea you can ground the second battery to some nearby metal!

I just added a car battery to my rig, so I am new to this.

However, from what I understand, a deep cell marine battery is designed to be used continuously and get a deep recharge.
Whereas, a car battery would be better suited for starting only, and getting charged as the pressure washer runs. Just like a car only needs the battery to start up and gets recharged by the alternator.

So, I think a marine battery would be best for a 12v system, and a car battery would be best for a pressure washer.

I don’t know if you are damaging that battery or not, but I don’t think it is the correct use.
