Pump Problem

I have less than 8 hours on this brand new General Pump. While using it today I noticed it was spraying water from the bolt I’m pointing to in picture. I shut down and called it a day. Before messing with it, I wanted to post picture and see what you guys think caused this and recommendations for what I should do?
It may be as simple as just tighten it and move on?

One other thing… I forgot about this, but earlier in the day while spraying I had a plug up on a tip totally blocking flow. I put on a different tip and kept spraying. Could what ever plugged me up be related to the pump issue?

Thanks for any advise.

What in the fart is that stuff?! I’m following because I don’t know nearly enough about the machines.

Are you using a filter before the pump? Do you carry a pick set with you?

If something made it thru the pump and plugged the nozzle you may have junk in the pump. Check the check valves. Tighten what’s loose. Keep in mind it’s a general pump. Some don’t get 8 hours of use.

He says, after I signed equipment lease paperwork to purchase a $6500 pressure washer w/ a general pump from pressuretek.

Jk. I know your stance on the GPs.

I just unplugged tip. It was an o-ring.
It came off of a lance that I just happened to remove after it plugged. Thank God for it being an o-ring!

Back to the leak…

I bought a GP instead of a CAT because of repair cost. How many hours do CATS get? lol

I wondered about that stuff too?
I cover machine and I don’t have chemicals flying all over my truck bed?

I’ll try to tighten and spray tomorrow. I should have another 35 minutes or so before my GP hits 8 hours and dies lol

It’s already in my “tax plan” for 2017 to buy an udor before the 1st of the year because I want to be like Innocent when I grow up AND he’s not the only person who raves about them so I hope I get at least a few months out of it. Lol

If you don’t mind rebuilding them and keeping them from running dry general is ok.

I mind!

It’ll be good for you. Make you appreciate it more when you get an Udor.

Haha. I plan on moving into a 8gpm machine in the spring.
Is a Udor a special order? I don’t remember seeing that as an option with the online PW retail stores.

Most of the online stores have pressure pros and most units dropped shipped. You can call up a vendor and maybe spec a commercial machine but they probably won’t because there isn’t much profit margin in it. Gonna be rough if you can’t build your own stuff or have a good local vendor.
