Pulley size and source?

Well I am working on assembling my second pw. I’ve looked locally for a pulley without much success. The pump should run about 1750 RPM and the motor 3600 at full throttle. The pump pulley is 7.25" which means the motor pulley should be about 3.5" according to the online calculators. Do I need a bushing for the motor like the pump? I assume the main reason for it is to adjust the position of the belts? Best places to purchase?

Thanks!

At least give the noobie a hint before I bother Russ Johnson with a phone call! Thanks for any and all responses. :slightly_smiling_face:

I gave up on pullies! Gear drive FTW

My 5 hp 80 gallon industrial air compressor doesn’t have a bushing on the motor or the pump. Both are just held in place with a key and a set screw. If you had a bushing between the pulley and the engine it would tear up the crank seal.

Ended up sourcing the pulley from Amazon. Heavy sucker. PW is working great. Huge difference from 2.7 to 4. I can only imagine jumping to 5.5 or 8?! I have to earn some money first. :slightly_smiling_face:
