Pricing myself out of jobs?

Gave a quote this evening to clean a roof on a 36x18 metal building. It was in bad shape. Structurally fine, but thick 3-4” of heavy green Pacific Northwest moss with weeds growing out of it with a nice carpet of fir needles. Not to mention it had 14’ eves and no real good spot to use a ladder. I quoted them at $420 for pre treat and cleaning. This job would have been a nightmare in my opinion, but I would have done it. I try to scale my prices based on degree of difficulty and personal risk involved. Am I wrong for doing this or should I stick to a base price to land more jobs at a cheaper price.

You probably scared them off by being so cheap, they figured you didn’t know what you were doing.

Literally 3-4" deep?! No you weren’t too expensive.
